Late to the party, as always, but sorry to hear....Now, and when your son is feeling a little better.... beat the crap out of him. Well, I couldn't just say what everyone else has already said over and over..... could I?Seriously now, sorry to hear of this. It's always sad to lose a metal friend you really liked, but it can be replaced. Your son? Well, technically he could be replaced too, but.... For what it's worth (especially after making such an a$$ out of myself,) my first car was a '57 Chevy. I had wanted one from the time I was about 10yrs old. I replaced the engine (327ci) and clutch (11" HD) and did some other personalising work to it, like chrome the valve covers, replace the air cleaner w/a chrome aftermarket and added a 4bbl carb (AT 16!!)6 months after I got my license I too was broad-sided (for Keithvibe & Xmasguy, @ Park Ave and 248, when Palmer Park Mall was just being built in 1973.) The bumpers were out being re-plated (I had an older friend who was in the business @ Keystone Plating... yes, the wheel people) so the car had none at the time of the wreck just the brackets remained, and all the cop could say is, "Where are your bumpers, Son?" Like that would have helped in a broad-side situation. I was charged with the accident, which I would argue to this day. I spent 6 months before talking the guy who owned the car previously into selling it to me. I had what at the time, seemed like tons of time and all my money tied up into her, and had her for only 10 months in total (bought her in late January, but my 16th wasn't until early May.) I felt horrible about it then and even to this day really.

yea pinched. You try and instruct but young people know all just like I did when I was young. Everybody wheather your going to school or work in the A. M. give yourself plenty of time to wake up, have some breakfast and make sure your awake if thaty means getting up 1/2 hour early so be it. sleeping in an extra 15 min is not worth maybe never seeing a loved one again.

wow. sorry to hear the car's total, but as we all know, cars are replaceable, people are not. And I would imagine after that, your son will be a little more gun shy about falling asleep at the wheel or even driving if he's sleepy. I know that would scare the bejeebus out of me!Also, it makes me realize I'm getting old because I remember meeting your son at the GVC meet and he was definitely NOT of age for driving or permit driving! LOL
