why anyone would want to buy a Mercedes is beyond my understanding. They are not reliable cars. If you are going to pay $80,000 for a car, buy a Lexis or Infinity that will out-luxury any Euro model and give you trouble free driving for 200,000+ miles. It kills me that people think of Ford as Fix or Repair Daily, yet will throw away money on a Mercedes, which is likely to be in the shop far more times than a Ford. Keep the mask on, I say; I don't want to see the hiddeous Mercedes.
wow. the 3/4 view and rear are very vibe-like. its uncanny!!!! oh well, someone at mercedes must have really liked the vibe. would love to see an amg version... and then see if we can retrofit meh. who am i kidding....

..hmm, I wonder if it'll have a the same bolt pattern as the new or old Vibe. It would be interesting to see a Vibe rolling around on Benz rims from that model!

Anyone have those pictures of the Vibe prototype still hanging around? I could almost swear this is the same thing!

I am curious on the interior, and engine. That is where they are going to try and "sell" it. I am sure they will try and cram some V-6 or beefed up 4 Cyl in there. Be pushing some rediculous 250 HP or something.....
250 hp would be ridiculous.Wait....I want that!Just not M-B. Could not afford the price of entry, the maintenance costs and the repairs!

I agree, my neighbor has a 1985? 450SL.Ignition switch went bad. Just had to replace the lock cylinder.Remember the 60's and 70's American cars when this happened, just unscrew the outer ring of the ignition, pull out lock cylinder, put in new one, screw outer ring back in.. viola! On the Mercedes, the whole dash had to be pulled out... sheesh, no thanks!

But your torque steering would start really sucking then, lol.I do have to laugh that my 350 V8 Camaro is only putting out 245 HP stock, and now they have V6's that are putting out 275+..... So frustrating.
Looks like its Mercedes overpriced version of the Martrix / Vibe. I agree with the earlier posts, Mercedes are some pretty unreliable cars fro what i read from Consumer Reports. BMW isnt great either.Hey Vibr8tr 245HP stock was the the s**t back in the day. The 80s 5.0 Mustangs had only 225HP. Gr8 looking cars too. Now those cars would probably get smoked by the new Taurus SHO LOL. Sheesh.....365 horse twin turbo v6......STOCK! Cant imagine after some mods!

I LOOOOOOOVE Mercedes cars and a couple of the SUVs but from the general shape and size of the windows on this car I have a feeling I'm going to be severely disappointed with this vehicle
now id rather go with the Toyota FT-86 aka the Celica or the Subaru O86A STI (the FT-86), IMO. and yea M-B is not worth it, too pricey and too costly to maintain.
Lilkely NOT just a coincidence. Jeff Strausser, one of the guys heavily involved in the development of the Vibe moved from Pontiac to Cadillac around 2005.
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

Cant imagine after some mods!I know, and don't get me wrong, the 302 from ford and the 305 from GM were great motors and have ALOT of potential. And my 350 is still a fun drive, but it is crazy how the engines are getting smaller and smaller with more power. But if you go to a drag strip you still see some of the fastest cars out there are old school muscle cars. They have so much pent up aggression, lol. However I love the new SHO, it is nice. Or look at the GTR from Nissan.... another V6 sitting at supercar standards.....
Pretty amazing about Jeff Strausser. It's all in the family. Unfortunately the SRX is heavy, overpriced and thirsty, compared to the Vibe. No manual, either. More of a luxo type soccer mom vehicle. What's left of GM is still focusing their most creative juices on higher priced creations like the SRX. So hang on to your Vibes, 'cause I don't think they are going to replace this car any time soon, if ever.

i really do wounder if its the same car same frame or not and if the parts will be inter-swappable (yes i make words up) or not. cause the vibe is really a sweet car and reliable. has anyone killed a vibe on the forums yet? (without crashing it or modding it wrong)
