i chose the new 09 vibe...i've never liked the look of the vibes before and never thought of getting one until i saw the new vibe. but i'm going for the GT one as it looks best =D
I prefer the styling of the 2009. The old GT was more of a 'drivers' car than the new one...cant beat that racy engine and 6 speed tranny. The old one was also more responsive, the new one is more refined. The new one has more safety features. Hard choice but I went with the 2009.
I own an 03, but voted for 04I prefer the earlier styling, to the 09's, and the 03/04 front end over the 05-08. The others are ok, but I like the earlier look better. The rocker panels were different between the 03 and 04, but they are both ok. 03/04 also had some standard features that weren't offered in later years.I preferred the red and white instrument cluster of the 04's over the all red of the 03s enough that I swapped mine. There must be a valid reason for the drive by wire, but I like the cable throttle of the earlier ones.

I would vote but cant - a mixture of the 03 - 04 and 05 - 08. Love the front end of the 03-04, trying to find the bumper covers to do a swap.Dont like the 09 at all.
i really like the 09 vibe especially the GT...it's something fresh. i glad they finally did the vibe right...the previous vibes look too old...hard to explain but it's not as attractive as the 09.
I respect all of the Vibes, and love the front end of the first generation without the gray plasticky stuff, especially in that silver paint, but I had to go with the '09. Love it!

I'm not sure of the year. But it's the NEXT one. It has 150hp, 7 speed automatic (or 6 manual) and gets an Honest 35 mpg (Your results may vary!!!) It looks fantastic (even the Matrix owners say so) and the colors are great. Plus it doesn't have that rear blind spot anymore. Motor Trend voted it Car of the Year and Consumer Reports voted it a Best Buy. Hey, ya neva' know!!!

Thanks for the votes and statements guys, I know most will pick the year they have, that's why they have it, if they never liked it they would not have it. I still like the look of my 03 but it does look dated, I love the new tailights in the 09's and improvements like the headlights are great too, as for looks Im still gonna vote 09's
i like the 04's the most, like the front bumper more than the one on my 05 and if i understand correctly would have the dual open center console lid and i like the red and white guages, not sure i'd care for the all red in the 03's.
I own an '03, and I really LIKE the all red/full blackout dash display. Makes it seem more like the concept car, I suppose. Yup, 1% of the time in mixed sun and shadow conditions, it's hard to read until I adjust the brightness, but it's more because of the strangeness programmed into the Gen 1 Daytime Running Lights and sensor, rather than any defect in the gauge cluster itself. The front end of the '03/'04 is still my favorite, although the '09 is a close second. Of course, I love the split console armrest, and the tie-down slots in the rear seat and cargo area.I'd be hard pressed to justify an '09 with a 2.4L engine, particularly with $4.00 gas. For my 85% small town driving, my '03 1.8L is better on fuel, and plenty energetic to get out of it's own way, even with 3 passengers and driver. I almost bought an '03 GT the week before I bought my '03 Base/Automatic, but my wife and son wanted to be able to drive it easily. I've NEVER missed the extra cost of premium fuel at the pump. When I bought it (used) in February, 2004, gas was $1.539 a gallon! So at the moment, grouping by grille yields the following results:03-04 20 votes,09 17 votes05-08 10 votes
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.

A number of features were removed in subsequent years such as removal of the following: center console outlet, double cover for center console, roof top cross pieces, dialed down HP on the GT's with every subsequent year, removal of the GT's and AWD in the later models. On the plus side some of the newer models had new features, rear washer had 2 streams, visors had telescopic arms, tire pressure monitors, traction control, side curtain airbags, leather seats, factory subwooferIf they had a version with all the combined features of the 03-08 I would have voted for it.

Quote, originally posted by BlueCrush »'05-'08 are the same. So there's really only 3 choices if your talking about styling. I would divide that up, since '05 and '06 had the AWD and GT options, and '07 and '08 did not..(AWD all the way baybee)Diane
last of the '06 AWDslava red monotone, preferred, sport, and side airbags
can you get leather seats on the base model or gt only? i wasn't asked that option when I ordered mine, and would have picked it forsure on my base with 1sc 2.4
Yup, 03/04's have the best nose job, hands down. I have the 08. But overall... the cars are the same from 03 to 08. I'm slowly warming up to the 09. Nice front and sides. It's the tail end they need to work on. Don't look at the 09 Matrix. The first gen was pretty nice. I looked in on the new Trix the other day and what can I say. How about... Redesign!!! Sorry. Even the painted dash trim was dismal. At least that's a cheap and easy fix.Hey MountainMax, how about some figures on your giant 225/60 16 tire and wheel combo on your 'old Vibe!?! You mentioned that you had used an OEM replacement offset. Was that 39mm? Or was it just something close to that. Do you still have your 03? Thanks!!
'08 Manual, Sun&Sound, 17" Borbet Type CA wheels, 215/50 Summer Tires... 16" OE steel, 215/55 Snow Tires
in a lot of cases i prefer the 03-04 look (except in comparison to my 05 )i havent sat in or checked out the 09, but from the looks of it its just too mini van/matrixy to be consideredso id say 04=05>09
If you're still a Vibe owner, which of the newer models (you mentioned in a 2008 post) had the telescoping visors...I've got a 2010 GT in the states and can't find a part # Thanks
I voted for 09-10. As many others stated, there are things about the 03-04 and 05-08 Vibes that I like as well, but overall I absolutely love the 09-10. The styling of the 09-10 GT, beautiful factory 18" wheels, aggressive front end, plenty of power to make it fun to drive, I could go on and on .
2009 Liquid Platinum Metallic Vibe GT - 5-Speed Auto – Garage
2009 Steel Blue Metallic Vibe GT - 5-Speed Auto – Garage
Well there does not seem to be a way to vote anymore on this poll but I would have chosen the 2009-2010 Vibe. while I like all 2003 to 2010 Vibes in my opinion the only car that body cladding looks good on is the 1985-1991 Pontiac Grand Am (which was the car it was first introduced on)
I may be biased also but I love the look of my 09 GT. The wheels are great. Just enough power and nice styling. But I like the look and versatility of all the model years.
09-10 GT's are my favorite. Styling on the outside, and the interior is what really wins it over.Other than that, it'd have to be the 03-04 because of the sharper front end.
My vote is for my 09http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=45091But.......I love the wife's 04 in Fusion orange and her seats beat mine hands down. I hate the 09 seats, almost styrofoam. The 09 double console lid is really cheap compared to the 04. The older Vibes had much better quality interiors. The 04 has the monotone paint scheme so it has the 03 sides and molded mudflaps. With the mini bra the firebird hawk nose really stands out.I tell people the older Vibes look sport utility and the new Vibes look sporty. Older Vibes have bigger rear hatches and opening rear windows, a big requirement for a utility.
I agree that the '09/'10 Vibes look much sportier than the older ones. My vote goes to the 2004 Vibes by a slight margin to the 2003s. I love the front end of the '03/'04 Vibes (that's what caught my eye when I was searching for what would be my first car), but I'd really like the white and red gauges. Of course, I always associated the full red gauges with Pontiac anyway.

When I drove my friends 03 Vibe, the totally red gauges kinda messed with my eyes, especially on the bright day it was, contrasting from a deep, rich red to bright concrete on a sunny can really messes with the eyes.
