I don't like the 'sloped' look without the roof rack at all. That's precisely what I don't like about the TRIX.I'm not crazy about the look of the radio either, but then I'm used to the navigation screen on ours (I've never even seen a non-nav Vibe). That right gauge looks odd - like it was an afterthought with the different shape. Those are minor annoyances compared to the Vibe I'm used to. Congrats and welcome, btw!

Congrats and welcome, btw! i actually looked at an 08 Vibe today, and was amazed at the difference in the Radio, AC controls, vents, etc on the dashboard of the 08they seem very old and outdated to me compared to the 09, especially the radio.
I agree that I don't like the sloped roofline without the rack, either. I know some people despise the roof rack so much that they remove them completely. But I've always thought the lines of the Vibe benefitted from the rack, unlike the Matrix. Plus, as small as it is, I do find the roof rack useful. Not so sure about the smaller rear quarter panel glass either. The Vibe has enough of a blind spot back there without making the glass even smaller. Of course, I've not yet sat in an '09. Maybe the seating position/mirror angles make up for the smaller glass. Still not sold on it though. Think I'll stick with my '06 for awhile yet.Still - a brand new Vibe... WooHoo!

We have 1 on our lot. It is a loaded GT. Red. Pretty much the brochure car. I'll take some pictures and post them.I also would like to note that a fully loaded 09' GT can be had for close to the same price I bought my fully load 08' Base which sucks.

Quote, originally posted by ColonelPanic »What's the car look like inside at night? What color does all the stuff light up in, is it still red? Looked like it may not have been on a pic I saw on pontiac's site. Just one of those goofy things I'm curious about. I love the Dash.. to me it looks like a high tech computer simulation the way the speedo, and RPM gauges light up. They are so bright and vivid. The AC, and other buttons light up orange, but the radio display lights up gray and black to match the odometer readout display. It woulda been better if they all lit up orange if you ask me.I will take some pics tonight, along with some engine shots.. The engine looks kinda big for being a 1.8L..I am still just amazed at the amount of features this car has for being priced at under $19k with all the options.
Nice! The 115V outlet is what sold my wife on her 08. I would be suprised if the dealer optioned the heated seats for West Palm Beach unless it was ordered with every option made as thats the last thing needed in West Palm.

Is it just me, or do I spot a two-part center console lid...?

Please feel free to ask me any questions! Not sure if I'm sold...I would like to see more pics of GT model..base..doesn't do it like the first time I saw pics of '03..there was that Pontiac excitment....this just seems blah..Not kocking your choice..its just me...I like cars that are different..like the '03 Vibe was at the time...now it seems that the Vibe is just another family grocery getter..lost in the crowd...

Congrats and looks good. Still cant wait to see one in person tho....Only critical thing I have to add is why did they decide to mess up the symetry of the guage pod?
I saw a 2009 Vibe yesterday in the mall. It was white. For those in Ottawa it was at St Laurent mall at a display by Surgenor. Back end looks better in person than in picture.

I saw two 09's yesterday coming off a carrier as I was dropping off mine for the 60,000 miles service. They did not have a GT, I was told to come back next week. Interesting to see a 2.4L in a vibe, I will have to drive a new GT and see what it is like. I hear the GT has "differences" in the body style?

That's about the only thing carryover from the last model huh? Quote »why they carried over the old wheel caps bugs me Quote »Good looking Vibe but the same hubcaps I had on my 04 lol. Wonder when that will change. Okay, so here are the NEW base wheelcovers...I found these pics in this eBay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItemThe pic below shows the options on this Vibe, and only the base 16" wheels are shown. At first glance, I thought these were optional aluminum wheels.

At first glance, I thought these were optional aluminum wheels. Not sure what covers those are, but they are NOT the 09 1.8L base wheel covers. The 09 base vibe i bought has the old style wheel covers, which frankly look a LOT better than the ones in that auction IMOeven the Pontiac site shows the older wheel covers. Not sure where the heck this guy got that Vibe from.. or maybe he put on his own wheel covers. EDIT: Ok, these are the 2.4L base wheel covers. Looks like the 1.8L still use the old style.I'll stick with the old style on the 1.8L.. they look better IMO
Similar story here (Mar7).New 09 red, SE (1SB) auto.Had an 06 manual prior.- handles flatter, more stable- auto is not the dog I'd assumed it would be- ESC, ABS, TC all work rather well. Snowing here, anad tried a drift using the parking brake - no go. ESC stopped the slide. TC great on the slippery uphill, and ABS kicked in. All did just what they should - and it's all standard equipment now - awesome. Had none of that in my last Vibe. What fits so far from the 'old' car- winter floor mats- rear cargo mat (well old one is deeper, so I tucked the extra into the crack at the rear seatbacks) looks fine.More to come.
What else fits from previous models :- further to winter floor mats, all but drivers fit perfectly. Drivers interferes a bit at the dead pedal. Still works OK- trailer hitch - fits perfect- rear seatback carpered storage pouches. No. Tracks don't align with holes, and seatbacks are not as tall as 02/08 Model years.- roof rack cross rails - no way to use them. The ski racks that mount on the cross rails, no fit there - the clamp is smaller than the new cross rail/racks on the 09.- mounded mud flaps - neither front or rear. Fronts would fit - but there is a gap where the 06 and newer rocker skirt would fill. Looks wrong. Also noticing now the engine/exhaust has a buzzy note on acceleration. Nice and quiet at steady running, but an unattractive tone on accel. Will be difficult to add-on a chrome extension tip as there's only about 3" of pipe heading rearward after the bend out of the muffler. Can likely get one on, but it would have to be short not to stick out too far. Mods to do:Looking to add PIAA fogs, Diamond-Kote DK-9000 electronic anti-corrosion, set of nice summer wheels, and likely the lower rear black facia from the GT if it will fit (or an aftermarket) (paint it body colour)Paint rocker skirt same as body colour, Paint & Pintiac decals to calipers. Now if all the snow would just (removed) off!
Those "other" wheel covers which are on that Black 09 picture are Pontiac wheel covers that come on the 2.4 L Vibe for 09. You can see what I'm talking about on Pontiac.com. It lets you build an 09 Vibe and you will see those mysterious covers std. on the 2.4L Vibe.
