Vibes in my little town

Post by sk8r78 »

On the way to and after the meet I saw several Vibes in various color and trim, and decieded to photograph the Vibes that are in my little town of 2600. Some of which I was able to see the owners(but I didn't photograph them) and here is what I came up with in 2 days time. I spotted another tonight, but didn't have my camera and know of atleast three more that I have yet to capture. the last picture is of my ex landlords car, whom I introduced to Genvibe but have no clue if he ever checked it out, he's the towns undertaker. I once asked to take a picture of our cars together and he gave me the (removed) look, so I didn't press the issue. I find it curious as to why he has aftermarket rims tho. I'll stick with this till I have the others.

lol. I think you having a Matrix adds to the (removed) look. Most people that drive Vibes have no idea what a Vibe is anyways so if they see a Matrix they don't have the capacity to understand that they are the same (removed)...most people cannot even understand that sunfires and cavaliers are the same lol.As Hawaii said, that is a fun idea.

Those rims actually look like a pair off of a caviler or colbolt. Maybe some body at the dealer switch the rims.

This could be a start of a cool thread... I might have to start taking pictures too. Sk8r, weren't you telling me there's tons of vibes, but pretty much you're the only Trix in your town?

Hey Chuck--that's awesome! That's my hometown! I could see a couple of those were at the school maybe, which is very close to my house! My mom's next door neighbor has a satellite two-tone just like mine--Mom told me once that her little grandson came to visit when I was visiting Mom and Dad, and the grandson asked why Grandma's car was in Mike and Barb's driveway. And a good friend of my parents has a fusion one(grr) --she's from Moorhead I think but is in Mapleton quite frequently.

The Landlords rims are American Racing. Yes Kami this is what prompted me to do this. Reb. yeah I know you are from here and since your car is as well, you can post a pic of it here. I know of the one like yours that you mentioned and its just a mattter of time till I see it, to get a picture. The woman that drives the two tone Frosty, her husband has one like yours as well, I'll try to get a pic of them together. Still missing a Monotone Gray one and a Monotone Lava that lives near my Mom. I was starting out with mine in the pics as well but thought it was gtting a little weird parking next to them and snapping pics, so I stopped. the one I missed at the school was a Neptune twotone. I also drove by the dealership here in town and they didn't have a Vibe on the lot and they usually have two or three.

Wow 2600!I thought my town was somewhat small with just over 60,000. LOL!What's even better is when you see a Trix/Vibe with things done to it from the sites, i.e. Ycarts overlays, MiVibes covers, etc.

Well, as I told Kamikaze at the meet, I have had my car since May of 02 and 5 years later am still the only Matrix, in the area. Its funny that there are about 14 Vibe in a town of 2600 and all are virtually clueless as to the relationship of our cars. It would be awesome if I could get them all together for a photo shoot, but I think I have better odds winning the lottery

I guess last I heard Mapleton was only about 1500 people, not nearly 2600. Pretty much a 1-stoplight town. I think in that town you tend to see more American vehicles--the dealer in town is a Chevy-Pontiac dealer, and there is a Ford dealership about 6 miles away in the next town so I would venture to guess that MOST of the vehicles you will see around there will be those types, but I could be wrong.

I guess it just seems as big as the last town I lived in and that was the pop. So this means that about 1 in every 100 people in Mapleton own a Vibe.

You are like some kind of Vibe stalker.Do you ever try to entice Vibes to come home with you by offering them Mobile One, or asking them to help you fine your lost CAI?

so what's wrong with the dog being in the car?? the people might have been away from the car for only 5 mins. the ground is wet and it's mouth is closed, so i'm pretty sure it's not hot outside, and the windows might be cracked. without a closeup pic of the windows themselves, there's no way to know that 100%, but damn.and yes i AM a dog person. cats are a completely different storyback on topic: thas a cool idea sk8r

Not to be a fly in the ointment but this thread is about Vibes in my town, not the dogs that drive them, or the owners the left them in it. So back on topic.

I leave my dogs in my car unattended... they know not to fight or make snot bubble pics on the windows. And not to open the doors for strangers.

I'm looking forward to taking my dogs for a ride in my vibe. It's about time for a trip to the vet anyway.Oh, sorry, back on topic. You have a lot of vibe's in your town. I dont even know if i have ever seen one before I started wanting to purchase one. (although i dont pay attention to much).

almost all the vibes n trixes i've seen in my town are driven by people 45+ (most of em are way over that), and usually think they're too cool for vibe school, so they don't even give me a chance to tell em about GV. the only people that are happy about the car are people that i talk to that are rentin it. they're almost always surprised with every aspect of it. sometimes i tell em about the site, but i don't think any of em have joined. if they do come to GV, they probably just take a look around, close the window, n forget about the site
