I LOVE my VIBE! When purchasing, I considered a Matrix, but only if I got a SCREAMING deal on it. At the time they where the same price, and there where more Vibes on teh lots. The Vibe looks way better. Especially the tail lights, I hate that altezza look.

i never considered the matrix, i like the styling of the vibe more (except for the 05+ front end, wish pontiac stuck with the 03/04) but i kinda do like the matrix front end. with the matrix i hate the weird flare out at the passenger doors/ rear panelthat coment (one quoted by V) is the reason i'm not on MO, i like the GV friendlyness. i cant stand flaming, i see it enough on the pc forums i'm on. i thnk that some of the MO users are just jealous of us and that the volt is a vibe rebadged

Although the nominal list price of the Vibe was a bit higher than an equivalent Matrix, the actual selling price was quite a few thousands less due to assorted incentives, better dealer discounts, and a $3500 credit card rebate. In addition:- the Vibe is built about 25 miles away so the factory adds to the local economy,- we could order one with just the options we wanted and get it delivered reasonably quickly,- we liked the styling better on the Vibe (personal preference). On the plus side for the Matrix is a somewhat higher resale value but I tend to keep cars for quite awhile so that isn't much of a factor for me. My previous car purchase was also from the NUMMI plant - an '87 Chevy Nova. I suppose the resale value of that is also lower than the almost identical Toyota Corolla, but at 20 years old and 250000 miles the difference in resale value doesn't amount to much.

only thing that would make me decide on a Matrix instead of a Vibe would be if I wanted to rice it out.

Im pretty sure that if a vibe owner wanted a matrix instead of a vibe then they would have bought one instead. Some people are dense and just cant get it through their skulls that they are the same car with different body panels.I laughed at some of those comments in that thread.

I think the 03/04 vibes look better than the trix's and at the time my vibe was like 3 grand cheaper :D id take a 03/04 over a trix but a 05+ i might consider a trix as i dont like the new front ends on the vibes.

I'm probably somewhat to blame on that thread over on MO.I started the "Vibe is best" in Vibe forums awhile ago. But,everyone knows I love my Vibe.I've never been a fan of Toyota styling.Plus that girl over at MO is probably 14yrs old.

boy V she got your undies in a bunch didn't she... The maturity level of some are sub-par.Got to be the bigger person and let it go or life will be really hard... wait till you own your first house and have to pay property taxes LOL that will help you mature... LOL nothing like having the government tell you how much you need to pay them to live an a school district and don't have any kids going to that school.Don't sweat the small stuff.. it works out in the end.. by this time next year she will probley have crashed her car and end up driving a chevy cuz her credit will be so messed up that GM will be the only people willing to give her a chance at re-building her life.

ha! kev! i almost cried when i saw that thread over there! hilarious! when i read the title, i thought, 'oh boy, ok, here we go...'BUT, as some have said here, including our matrix buddies here, the attitude between our forums is much different.we all know that thread was part in jest, but the MO guys i think take themselves way too seriously sometimes.

I'd have chosen either a Vibe or Matrix, didn't really make that big of a difference to me. Both cool cars, and they're one in the same anyway.Came down to price... Couldn't turn down a Toyota car that's a few thousand dollars cheaper just because it has a Pontiac badge on it.That and the 03/04 Vibe front end is quite mean looking. Quite similar to the 00-02 Sunfires I guess

i just posted....now Larry pwned her on the age of trix owners. I dont think the vibe vs matrix should be like that flame war its just stupid. I like trix's i just picked the vibe cuz of the 04 look, the fog lights and the rims which the trix at the dealer didnt have fogs or rims (had hub caps). its all personal opinion but whatever im done in that thread, theres trix owners over here on genvibe that are awesome, they are super nice and thats what its all about, nice people meeting eachother and talking cars.

I never even considered the Matrix as those sunk in side panels are not attractive at all. Did not know they were the same car until I found this forum. To each his/her own.

why is there not an "I like both equally" option? I would be more than satisfied with either car. and the reason that I ended up with the vibe over the trix is simply because my Dad picked it. lol. and I would've been just as happy having recieved a trix.......but I do like the design of the Vibe a little bit more lol

yea that yamcha chick is real one sided on japanse imports and toyota and the Trix and dosent really want to accept that the vibe and trix are the same exact car. and i do believe the "soul" she was refreing to is the driver.

I don't think this applies to me, cause I already own the Trix. But I did pick it over the Vibe cause it was more my style w/ the sheet metal.I personally have nothing against Vibe owners cause I feel we get along very well ) play nice and share plenty of good ideas.

Thanks for the responses on that one I see a few other Trix's on the parkway heading home and to work, a Silver base, a blue 4WD base and someone that works in one of the surrounding buildings drives a black 4WD XR just like mine. A sliver XRS, a blue vibe (I guess it would be the same as the XR w/ wheels and such).I actually see more Trix's than Vibes around here but I have a neighborhood girl who has a Lava Vibe, very nice color!I love both cars cause they stand out in a parking lot.Oh and don't let MO people know this, but after seeing some of the Vibes done up here, I could almost change my mind, almost...As far as the age, I'm 26, not young, not old and a lot of the other drivers I see must be in their 30's+
