Don't get me wrong. I've loved having a Vibe. It's my first hatchback and extremely versatile and plan on keeping it for a few years at least. I was thinking the other day about what my next vehicle might be though and I can almost say with certainty that it will be another hatchback. I really like Subaru's so maybe I'll get one of them in a couple years. How about you?

a friend recently got the new VW Rabbit and my wife and i agree we want to get one for the next car (it's her turn to get something next). Depending how well that pans out, it may also be my next car.I miss my 98 Golf....
I have signatures turned off so I'm not even sure what mine says in this space!
Quote, originally posted by ANO_Vibe »Rabbit or Mazda3 Same here. I love my Vibe, and am going to keep it for a while longer. But it can't run forever. Those are my top choices right now, depending on how long maybe even something that hasn't even been released yet. Maybe a hybrid too.
Quote, originally posted by ANO_Vibe »Rabbit or Mazda3 As much as I like the new Rabbit..... my last car was a '00 VW Jetta and it has left a very sour VW taste in my mouth. Seemed to break every other week. Had it back to the dealer about 20+ times in the 2 years I owned it.

The US brand vehicle with the best MPG and enough headroom to drive safely. That was the criteria that led me to a Vibe, right now it still leads me to a Vibe
a new ride for me woud b for a while (like 3-4 yrs) and at that point i'll have an engineering job and some nice cash...after the loans are paid. if i'm still lookin for a hatch of similar size i'd love an audi a3. i'd probably stick to an american brand tho, who knowsi saw one of those mazda cx7's yesturday and they look nice
I also love my 04 Vibe but will be buying a subaru this spring if all goes as planned. You Vibers in Ontario may see my Vibe back there this summer as my folks are likely buying it.

for me it will most likely be another hatch, something along the lines of the acura rdx or a mazda cx-7. regardless, it's definitely going to be a while.
for personal vehicle, i'd want the new saturn sky turbo. but for practical purposes the next vehicle (after Phil's) will be for the new business... *sigh* so most likely also a Subie but probably something with a lot higher clearance and much more boring. oh well... it's for work, not for play. that's what my car will end up being since I doubt Phil will let me touch his new STI. LOL
My next car... well depends on if they get a turbo diesel hybrid out, i want one of those..if they ever have made one. But if they dont, ill prolly get a car with a new turbo diesel when they get released this year, i think volvo has a c30 that looked pretty nice. OH the chevy WTCC ultra!! that looks nice.
If I didn't care about gas mileage I would buy a 1996 Buick Roadmaster wagon. But I do care so it will be the most fuel efficient car I can buy that I can fit my tuba and golf clubs in at the same time and still have room for at least 4 full sized humans.....probably a Kia Rondo.

I'm already thinking of when the murrano lease is up. I've got it down to 3 cars. an infinity G, The next Acura tl, or an Altima 3.5.Actually 4, we might keep the Murrano. who knows, got 3 years to go.
I will likely be buying my parents' 93 Lexus LS 400 - has just 82K miles on it. I will be passing on my Vibe to my 18 year old son.

If I was to buy a car right now, I would be looking at the Jeep Compass. If I had some more $ I would be looking at the Rav4 or CRV.If I had some more $$$ I would be looking at the Acura RDX.But for now I plan to keep my 2003 Vibe for at least another 4-5 years.Hatchbacks Rule!

Not going through the finance office again ANYTIME soon. Kids, not cars, hopefully in the near future. But someday I WILL have my '66 GTO and a Harley!
depends on what car it is replacing. If replacing the vibe, then Mazdaspeed 3. If replacing the s2000, then likely something like the sky redline, or porsche. If replacing the viper, then TVR sagaris..
My practical choices are : '07 Accord V6 with 6 speed manual or an '08 Pontiac G8 I just need more space inside than the Vibe provides. I live in the Vibe (52K miles on my '05 already) and I need the "Q ship" effect 'cause I view speed limits (except in school zones) as mere suggestions.............

My wife really likes the AWD in her Vibe....so the next vehicle (unless GM changes their ways with the Vibe) may direct us back to the first car we initially looked....Ford Fusion with the v6.....and now it comes with the AWD. However, as long as we have no issues with the Vibe...it won't get replaced.....Instead, we may just "compliment" the F-150 and Vibe with a motorcycle instead as this is a "dream" of ours. There just may be a HD street bob, lowrider or fat boy that gets added in the next couple of years.
My next vehicle will be an AWD Vibe. I am just getting a head start on the forum scene to see what I can see before I dive in. Right now I have a 330hp turbocharged eclipse... Quite a change in acceleration when I test drove that Vibe.
I'd like a new VW R32, that way I get the power the Vibe should have and still have AWD, but I am not sure I can stomach VW's quality problems.OK, 2nd choice would be a Mini Cooper S with the John Cooper Works package.

I'm not even thinking about my next car yet. I've only had my '06 vibe for four months, and I'm loving it. Prior to the Vibe I drove an '87 Corolla for about 6 years 'till the head gasket blew (the last in a long line of problems for the old Corolla). Prior to that I drove a '65 Olds 442 that I had restored for nearly 10 years. Miss that one boys, I'll tell you. But NOT when I pull up the the gas pumps. ('65 Olds 442 12 mpg, 0-60 @6.5 seconds. '06 Vibe 34 mpg. 0-60 ???).

The lotus ZAP (EV car) is my next car! 350mile range, 644hp (if compared to a gas car), AWD and 10 min charge time. its a 4 door hatch back just like the vibe...ohhh it would be so sweet.
Was between, Si sedan / Cobalt SS / Speed3But im SC the vibe, so its gonna be about 2 more years before i get another car... hopefully.

mine will be a 94 nissan 300zx twin turbo, but not til my vibe is paid off in 2010 . as some of you know, i had a 1990 300zx N/A 2+2 and completely fell in love with it, although it was a serious POS. i will still have the vibe gt (i like hope's term "VGT", so i'm gonna permanently borrow that one, if you don't mind, hope ), i'll never think of sellin it. it's the only car i have fallen in love with, and i never even DROVE one til 2 days before i bought mine. i'm gonna drive this baby til the freakin wheels fall off, then i'll drag it around after that. oh yeah, me and my girl are gonna end up like mr and (soon to be) mrs izzle. no, not marraige(yet), but she wants a vibe for herself too. she'll even have the AT like katie does lol

i test drove a 5-speed mazda3 with I/E at a dealership, and it is ssslllooowww compared to my (other) baby. my mom was lookin at it, so she asked me to test drive it. she even noticed it was sluggish. the salesman said "it's pretty fast, huh", and i politely said "nope" lol this damn thing called lift has spoiled the hell outta me

1 Mazda CX-72 2008/9 Vibe have to see, what/if...3 2006 Vibe AWD; there are still a few left on some dealer lots. The next car is for the wife, my 2003 GT is doing well with 50K.
Saw the Kia Rondo @ Houston Auto Show...it's okay, but kinda bland. My wife's next in line for a new car. She has a RAV4 now and wants another small SUV. The new RAV4 doesn't really offer anything appealing except the V6 option. The rear seats in her RAV4 are foldable AND removable; the new RAV4 seats only fold forward . We looked at lots of SUV/crossovers at the Auto Show. I like the CX-7 for styling, but not for utility. I like the RDX for performance and driver/passenger comfort, but not for utility. The Ford Edge is good deal, but I'm leery about anything from Ford right now.Funny...my wife said if the Vibe rode a little HIGHER, she'd actually consider getting one. Since mine's dropped, she thinks it's like riding on a skateboard compared to her RAV4. Me...I still got payments and mods to do before I consider another car. I'm holding out hope that the next generation Vibe will be worthwhile.
