235,000 miles today :D and [knocks on wood] car is still running famously. Some interior rattle at high speeds but that is to be expected.
I did, however, have to dump about $600 in repairs a few months back for some fluid flushes/replacement, and a tiny oil leak (can't remember the root cause). That's the single largest repair bill besides tires I've ever had since I bought it brand new in October 2008.

Congratulations! In the grand scheme of things, $600.00 for vehicle service / repairs is not bad at all. I spent $275.00 just to have a leaking water pump replaced on mine a couple months back :|.

My mom's Vibe turned over 56,000 miles this past week. Mine has about a hundred miles to go, so it will probably turn over some time during this next week.

My 2007 Vibe just crossed over 500,000km (312k miles) on Tuesday. Coincidentally, Monday was the 8 year anniversary of the day it was built.

For 1/2 million kilometers, I haven't had to do a heck of a lot to it. Manual Transmission failed at 140,000km and again at 300,000. But I knew about this issue after GM replaced it the first time. When I changed it myself at 300k, I made sure to get a transmission from a 2005 or older, no issues since. I also replaced the clutch while I was in there. Swapped the dash cluster at 299,999 so I could continue to track business milage. But other than that, and regular maintenance (brakes, oil changes, spark plugs etc), she runs great!

Going on 105k on my '07. Had her for about a year, no issues yet (knock on wood). Definitely more dependable, and cheaper to maintain, than my other hobby, VW Vanagons.

About to pass 240,000 miles. Just got inspected for state inspection and all is well. There is some odd interior rattle coming from the glove compartment area that I can't identify the cause of, but otherwise she's still kicking! :D

I love the extreme contrast between these two 2nd gen Vibes' miles!

Both our Vibes will be turning over 57,000 miles within the next few days.

I have 315,000 miles on my 2007 Vibe. And yes, it does stop at 299,999. Since then I have been using the tripometer to keep track of how many more miles I have put on it. So every 10,000 miles, I have to log it, to keep track.

Car runs great, only I am concerned about the fact that no one wants to do a tranny fluid change. Their answer is just to keep running it, and it concerns me a bit.

I'm not really having a problem, I just think it should be changed.

Welcome to GenVibe! That's awesome (although not surprising) that your Vibe has that many miles and is still running great! Be sure and make a post introducing yourself and your Vibe when you get a chance ;).

Have about 304800 on my 06 base! Nearly all Highway miles too so the original clutch is still working pretty well.

I'm thinking I should change the transmission fluid as well, why doesn't anyone want to change yours?
I had a mechanic tell me I should basically use it or lose it, referring to the car in general.

This may be complete nonsense but if I remember correctly I was told years ago that if transmission service wasn't done as regularly scheduled (meaning that fluid isn't changed on schedule from the beginning of it's life) over time "crud" forms in little nooks and crannies. This crud doesn't impair function but when a high mileage transmission is opened for the first time later in life this crud breaks loose and can float around causing all kinds of problems. This leads to the common advice "if it is working leave it alone".

I agree. The auto trans on my dad's 2001 s10 (~314,000 miles) started slipping every so often a couple weeks ago. He took it to our mechanic and they said that basically the transmission is starting to go. They didn't want to change the transmission fluid and filter because they said that would just kill the transmission quicker. They said they've seen people go another 50,000 miles before the transmission finally gives out for good, so my dad's just babying it and hoping for the best.

Just crossed 110k miles yesterday.

Bought it with 80k back in Nov 2013.
I've put money into it, but it was money well spent..

Tires (Got some Continental extreme contact DWS (later dawned on me, DWS stands for Dry Wet Snow, tire wear indicating what it's still good for as the letters wear off SWD, snow first) helped also kill that horrible road noise)
Pads and Rotors (both were original, and rotors were bad)
Suspension (quick struts were a little leaky when car was purchase)
Coolant flush (*shakes fist at Toyota dealership* darn you Toyota, putting dexcool in your engine!)
Replaced driverside rocker molding (previous one was had a rip at the back corner and cracking all the way down)
K&N SRI with AEM dryflow filter (saw 2-3 MPG increase, love the noise)
Full exhaust replacement (headers back, cept for the down pipe between header and cat) (saw another bit of mpg out of it, and love the sound)
engine block heater (for those few cold days in St. Louis winters, easy self installation)

Oh, and it's been jumped over by a deer, yes... not hit, in the usual thought, but was able slow down enough that the deer paused for a moment then decided to go almost behind my car and jump it, dragging a hoof across the back triangle window, leaving a good scuff.

Probably not, considering how much I drive. I have to believe that if it wasn't mostly highway miles, I might not still be driving her. But I will definitely continue the updates and we shall see what the odometer does after 299,999 (fingers crossed)!

2003 Base, 5/speed - 279330 miles. Bought with 115,000 miles. Replaced the catalytic converter at ~ 180,000, center bearing failed in the trans at 249,000 (replaced with a 2007 5/speed with 46,000 on it.
Most versatile vehicle I've owned, and planning to drive well past 300,000 miles :)

Our 2005 Vibe (ordered custom from the dealership back at the end of '04, received in Dec) has approx. 270,000 km. So far, $150 for fixing an exhaust leak, new tires a few times, regular oil changes. I changed the front struts when I thought the wife had said they were reported as leaky when purchasing new tires, but I was mistaken and swapped out good struts. I've changed the plugs once and brake pads once.

We just bought a 2010 with 19600 km on it - sure hope it works out as well as the '05. I'm a bit concerned as it has auto transmission and the old was manual.

My 2007 base Just passed 163,000km!(roughly 100,000 miles)

Have owned it since 70,000km and its been a blessing!

Regular oil changes every 5000km.

Done a couple of fluid change outs(transmission and coolant)

Had to replace the intake manifold gasket a few months back.

Other than that just front brakes have been done once so far!

Starting to ride a little rough but from I've read(and experienced) these are rougher riding cars to begin with!

Really hoping to have this thing until at least 300,000km!

I'm at about 308,600 miles now. The CEL just came on (PO171, fuel system lean). I made a thread over in the "problems/warranty issues" section of the board. The car seems to be running normally, at least for a car with that many miles. The manual transmission feels solid. It does accelerate somewhat sluggishly (I am in Colorado driving mostly around 5500' elevation).

What an awesome car. It feels like it could hit 400K! this guy did a couple years ago: viewtopic.php?t=32781

A hair over 117k on my 03 Envy Vibe. Bought it in July '13 with 102,xxx on the clock. Besides routine stuff like inspections/battery/oil changes/fluid changes, the only thing I've had to replace was a starter ($300..probably could have been much less but it happened in an inconvenient cold time of year), although I'm about to DIY the serpentine belt next week as it's starting to crack. At the pace I drive, I'll probably have this car another 10 years minimum.

Having a lot of trust in Pontiac and Toyota, one week ago I purchased an '06 base model,5 speed with 253980 miles on her! I am the second owner, she seems to be well maintaned. Engine runs well, shifter doesn't feel all loosy-goosy like my old car, drives down the road with no pull to either side, steering wheel is perfectly centered,no rattles from anywhere, body is very solid and rust free(except for a 2 inch wide spot under the leading edge of the hood) . The drivers door stop/strap is broke, think I have to go to the dealer for that, shoot, just remembered no more Pontiac dealers! Hopefully the Matrix uses the same part.Thinking about a cold air intake or K&N filter.Any thoughts on that?

2003 Vibe Gt. I bought it new. it is my daily driver. 400,000km just last weekend. 240,000 miles. still runs like a top. except for the fast idle speed thing...
