Got mine April 20 2003 960 miles no problems!!! Pickup and mpg (28mpg) still improving!!!
2003 Base, Auto Trans, Moon and Tunes, Lava Monotone, Power, 16" Aluminum Alloy Wheels, VentShade Hood Delector. Add on Alarm by guy who installs "factory alarms" at dealer. Door and edge paint chips . Grafworks Vibe stickers, INJEN CAI still in the box . 65,000 miles since 04/03. Still using Mobile1 SINCE MY FIRST OIL CHANGE! Looking for new tires, wore out my Goodyear AssuranceComforTreds (replaced Eagles @27K). Thinking of the TriplTreds...
My MPG has been great! I've been averaging 29-32 MPG, and I drive back roads, very fast, with hard starts and stops...so if I were to drive properly, I can just IMAGINE how good my MPG would be!
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Just hit 10,000 miles today (tomorrow will be one year of ownership too)! This is now the most miles I've ever put on a car without getting tired of it or having something go horribly wrong.
quote:When I filled up today, the odometer read 51309 km = 31882 mi ...I've owned it for 10 months and 2 days. Well, that was on 5/7/2003. It's now 4 months later, and I just went for my 70000 km oil change today (that's 43496 miles). I know there's a few other "high milers" out there ... how're you folks doing?

My odometer has over 18,000 miles on it. I've had my Vibe since late December.A few weeks ago I learned that my cousin recently bought a Vibe. Our Salsa and Neptune Vibes looked great parked together at our family picnic.Still trying to figure out how to carry my bike though. If anyone can help, please see my other post.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5920

I've had mine since Halloween 2002 and I have over 36000 miles on it. It's not under warranty anymore lol. 2 trips to Vegas and about 12 trips to Tahoe during the winter from San Jose didn't help much either. It's all snowboarding's fault lol.
Update...my last post on May 10 I had just passed 13200 miles...as of this moment, I am at 21568...that's 8368 miles in just, under 4 months...quite a bit of driving IMHO...comes out to an average of 25,000 miles per year...about what I'd expect to put on...

I am at aroung 16000 and its almost a year old...I agree with the above post.. The chipped paint is REALLy bugging me.. I have a 10 year old car that looks better paint wise..
Salsa (2-tone) Base Automatic Vibe with Moontune package
I've had mine since 07/18/03 and I only have 2,500 miles (little less than 2 months) - I only really use it for commuting. We drive my wife's minivan (Mercury Villager) for most other trips. Minivans have a bad rep, but I wouldn't trade it for the world (maybe another Vibe, of course! )
Interesting...I've had my Vibe since October (almost a year now) and haven't had a single problem with chipping paint. I have one scratch from a rock in the plastic around the left front wheel, but that's it. You might want to go have it checked out...could be a bad batch. One thing that might affect it...have you been waxing it? I have a relative who works for GM, and we were all advised not to use wax on our newer cars (say, within the last 10 years) because it will erode the clearcoat. But on the topic of the post...I have almost 8,000 miles. Very low, since I'm nearly it's 1 year birthday.
I've had mine since July of 2002...but I just got my liscense in August this year, and it had about 1300 when i got my liscense and now it has 5010. So that goes to show you it will have alot of miles on it But thats alright because its a Japanese engine so it should last for a long time.
I now have around 18K miles on my Vibe GT that I bought back on May 8, 2002. It's been an awesome car!

18,600 miles. I bought it Dec 02, 2002. A few little rattles and some paint chips. I bought some touch up paint and have been religiously filling the chips in. At this rate my paint job will be one big touch up job.
I've had mine since the middle of August and just passed 300 miles. I don't get to drive it as much as I would like, basically just to work and back. I need to plan a road trip...Piper
I have put 26, 000 km on it in less than 6 months. 2 trips to Montreal, One trip to Michigan. With another trip to Michigan next week and a trip to Florida at Christmas, I will be through my warranty in just a little over a year. Not a problem yet, other than the paper thin paint job. Lots of little scratches. Great car. Practical and fun to drive!!
quote:48,991. It's nice to know that I am not the only one putting a lot of miles on my Vibe-Savoy-You're still beating me, though, and you've had your Vibe for less time. Hopefully I'm not commuting for the whole 5 years I'm paying it off.Hmm, 60000 km/yr * 5 years = 300,000 km (480,000 miles). Will this engine really last that long?

"Hmm, 60000 km/yr * 5 years = 300,000 km (480,000 miles). Will this engine really last that long?"I am well on my way to finding out. On a positive note...I'm at 50,000 miles now and I have not had any problems. Not even a brake change.-Savoy-
Just under 23,000 miles, have had my vibe since halloweeen. When I bought it there were 7,076 miles on it so I guess i put about 14,000 miles on it in 11 months.
quote:I think you did the math wrong. 300000 km is 187500 miles. thanks for the correction. I don't bother memorizing the conversions... I have a calculator that does that for me. And with the not-so-equal balance of Canadians & Americans on this site, I try to convert to miles whenever possible. Even still, that's a lot of miles on a 4 cylinder.

You know...I'm not as much worried about the engine as I am the transmission. But..again I have had no trouble what so ever @ over 50,000 miles.-Savoy-
yeah the engine will last that long, take care of it and you'll get many miles of motoring. i just did a LOF on a 90 celica at work today with....222,000 miles on it!!! do the oil changes, tune up when needed, and you'll have it a long time.

Getting close to 26,000mi now...i also got the extended warranty! My old '86 Volvo was at 246,000 and running like new when a guy ran into it and snapped the axel.....but im sure it would have easily gone far past 300,000 and that was 1986 technology so lets hope the vibes can prove themselves!

Slick passed 10,000 mi yesterday. That's 3 mos. 4 days. Averages out to be just over 106 per day.I like driving my Vibe, and putting miles on it won't keep me from driving it, but sure hate to "wear it out" so quickly.I say "wear it out" because I feel like the quality is very good and it won't actually wear out for a long while. But it's value will suffer because the market will perceive it as worn out way to soon.

Don't feel bad...I bought mine last Nov. with 800 miles on it and I'm ashamed to say that now we have close to 13,500 miles on the car. I am using it to go back and forth too.
