Oy I remember those days. Seeing $4.23 a gallon was outrageous! I hope it doesn't go that high anytime soon...My local stations have been hovering around $3.13-3.16

Got a text from Meijer that gas was going up today. That service comes in pretty handy, even if I don't get gas there, I have a good idea that others will also be jacking their prices up...I filled up for $2.99 and a few hours later, some places are as high as $3.19. Took a little trip, so I'm at 1/2 tank again -- it's still $2.99 around the house, trying to decide whether I want to top it off while it's still "cheap."

Yes Love, but you're in Hawaii where nearly everything has to be flown or barged in from 2-3000 miles away... or so I'm told. From what I've heard, EVERYTHING is more expensive in Hawaii. True?

Bump for the spike! What are you guys seeing?$3.05 this morning and $3.36 in some places this evening. One station near where I work had it for $3.28, while the one next to it left theirs at $3.05. It was a madhouse at the cheap place, but I still took advantage of it while I could.

$3.599 for 89 octane in Sumas, WA yesterday. Rough, but still better than $1.11 per liter (with the dollar almost at par) in Canada.

On the way home at 11pm, their 5 cents off Thursday had kicked in and it was $3.58. The station I normally fill up at was $3.39 yesterday, I need to fill up, so we'll see what it is tomorrow. JR

You guys are so lucky in the U.S.! Our dollar has been hovering around par with the U.S. for some time now - so this is a fair comparison.Tonight our local stations were at $1.23 per litre for 87. That's about $4.65 per U.S. gallon. 89 adds about another 8 cents per litre, and 91 would add 14. That's about $5.18 per gallon for premium! Sure glad ours run fine on regular! It's been worse here before too. I'm really hoping that things don't get too much worse than they are now. It drives up the cost of everything!Poor Canadian rant over...John

I don't recall it being this high since summer '08 (correct me if I'm wrong, Ottawans). I cringe everytime a fillup costs more than $50 (I usually fill it up as soon as the lignt comes on). At least my lowest tank mileages are still above 550kms winter/city.

Just paid $3.39 for 89 octane (lowest grade at the Citgo we always go to). Last Monday it was $3.13 . On the bright side though, the Citgo we go to is in the next town over (4 miles from our house). There is a Citgo in downtown Sandwich (.5 mile from our house), but their lowest grade is 87 and it's currently $3.49 a gallon. Let me tell you... that 4 mile drive is definitely worth it.

Just paid $57.00 for 49.052 Litres @ $1.156. This is the most I can recall paying for a tank in the city on a regular business day since summer '09. These prices have gotta be having effects on consumer behavior.
