We go down to a lake every other weekend or so, and I put the boat in the water off of an old dirt road that that was flooded out when the lake was created. Unfortunately, my wife was the first person who had the opportunity to check out the AWD capabilities of the new-to-us Vibe.

While I'm putting the boat in the lake with an old Jeep, she drives down in the Vibe with the kids, crossing several washed out areas and muddy potholes. She drove into a muddy ditch and up an embankment to park. Didn't slip at all, and the mud was pretty deep, as you can see in the pic.

This is exactly why I wanted an AWD, and I'm impressed.

Another happy customer with a success story ;) Depending on how muddy you get the undercarriage you may have to "hose her down" to keep it clean. Nice testimonial & thanks for sharing it with us!

I just picked up a 2009 vibe AWD. I can't find much about the AWD system or reviews on it. I really kind of took a gamble because I figured no info is better than bad info. People must be satisfied with it if there are no complaints. I'm from Michigan and after last year's winter it would be nice to have AWD. I understand the viscus clutch but I can find very little on how the whole system works as a whole with the traction control and how much power actually gets transferred to the wheels with traction. I see videos of the Rav4 but maybe only a few of the Vibe and matrix in snow. Does anyone have any input? I'd really like to see some more videos of what it do. I guess maybe I'll have to make some this winter. :)
