Re: Noise from wheel after new rotors and brakes

As other suggested, I'd quickly borrow a torque wrench from a parts store to torque your wheels when you're done. You don't want them flying off while you drive, or being on too tight next time you go to take it off. By the way: alloy wheels must be torqued a second time after about 100 to 150 mile...

I didn’t use a torque wrench just kinda tightened things are much as I could with my socket so maybe that’s an issue? Yes, that could be. When you need the car again, you rotate it back on, and you have a battery that's in a lot better shape.
This has one disadvantage though: the computer will be in relearn mode every time. Using a battery maintainer (trickle charger) could avoid that.

Adding to jolt's advise: there is some inexpensive guess work you can do. Jolt: It could be the cam sensor, the crank sensor, the wiring between the sensor and ECM, You can disconnect any of the wiring harnesses and inspect them for corrosion, clean them and reconnect. Same with the battery cables. ...

Still, do what Kostby suggested.
It could also be a tire. When belt separation begins it takes a good amount of centrifugal force to be felt in the car. And you could miss it on inspection because you only see it standing still.

Do you still have an old registration receipt or insurance receipt? There is your VIN.

Use Toyota Type IV transmission fluid. That way you don't have a mixture of brands and types in the tranny. There is no hard rule on how many drain and fills to do before changing the filter. 1st drain and fill (d&f) gives you about 50% new. 2nd d&f gives you about 75% new. 3rd d&f gives...

When the insurance totals out a car it becomes the insurance company's property. If you take stuff of that car it is theft. They won't bother about the curtains, they are yours, but the engine and the wipers are theirs. You can of course try to buy it back from them.

So be careful!
