Re: speed limiter

The limiter's there for a reason, usually because of the speed rating of the tires or so you don't destroy an overstressed part at speed. I recall that Vibes speed limiters are set around 110mph for base models.

The $1.449/L equals roughly $5.47/gal.... So think about that if you decide to make BC your roadtrip destination...

Re: Car has power but won't start

Things to check if it doesn't turn over:

Park/Neutral safety switch (if you have an auto)
Clutch safety switch (if you drive stick)

Things to check if it cranks but doesn't start:

Fuel pump
Battery terminals loose (bad connection)
Defective battery
Poor negative battery cable to frame ground

Re: All-wheel drive not working?!

The easiest way to simply test the AWD is to place the spare tire jack just behind the left front, jack up the car until the entire left side is off the ground, chock both right side wheels, release the e-brake, start the car, turn off the traction control and put it in drive. If the AWD system work...

The internal workings of a 5 speed and 6 speed are vastly different. I'd advise against tearing them apart and swapping parts between them. You may find yourself missing key components to make them mesh properly. IMO sell the 6 speed and find one from a Corolla/Vibe/Matrix that is a known proper fit...

Yeah, the rear cargo area and the test drive sealed the Nox' fate! Not to mention the 4cyl issues... and the fact that an AWD 3.6 would've cost more then the Silverado!

There were times when it was quite difficult to remove the canister cover but it was never impossible. If it's rounded off you simply need to use a good strap wrench, one where the rubber strap hasn't degraded. I've used a hammer and punch to get it off before, too, when it was extra stubborn. http:...

They have a big problem... The base (and I mean BASE) price of a '13 Scion TC after fees, taxes and such is a hair over $24000. Young people don't have that kind of disposable cash... and if they do, they're going to spend the extra $5K and buy the FR-S. If they want to put butts in the drivers seat...
