Unfortunately here where I live, they use sand (very small rocks) and lots of salt to treat the roads for people who don't put snow tires on their vehicles and then try to drive the same way they would on a dry summer day (we find a lot of these drivers doing short unexpected off road tours). As you...

The rebates have some regional variations. I just bought a 2008 for about $1,100 more than my son paid for a lightly used 2005 last year. The 2009 Vibe is going to be very nice, but the best goodies may be bundled with the larger engine. More power can be fun but, you will probably take a hit on eco...

FYI- OEM Wheel offsets from toyotanation/matrix

I haven't been able to find an 'official' listing for Vibe OEM wheel offsets... but looking around a bit I found a chart for our close relative, the Matrix, on toyotanation web site. Thanks Raven. Don't know how your road surfaces hold up, but here in Maine we have a reputation for nasty secondary road conditions from late winter into late spring. If you run anything close to low profile (40 aspect ratio or less) you can easily do serious wheel damage. You can destroy a quality ...

Ok, looks like the 38 mm offset should work... although with a taller and wider tire, I still would like to know if they would hit anything in the wheel wells. Also concerned about the tire ending up outside the fender line. I'm familiar with indicated speed changes due to tire diameter differences....

anyone tried a set of 225/50 17 tires with a set of 38 mm offset rims

I have a chance to get a set of 17X7 inch alloys with a 38 mm offset and have four 225/50 17 summer tires to go on them. Will these tires fit a stock Vibe without interference if I use that rim? The 225/50 17 has a 1/2 inch larger overall diameter than the optional 215/50 17 available for the Vibe a...
