Sounds like resurfacing might be the best value to you. Just look your flywheel over good. If its visibly warped, grooved or misshapen, I would just replace it.

Re: Exedy KTY-14 clutch kit for 03 GT?

If that's all it costs, I'm getting a new one. They say a flywheel can only be cut twice before you start to get issues with clearances or something (too thin). You can use flywheel shims to make up for that but you've got to think, why does a flywheel need to be resurfaced? Generally it's because ...

This is a very common problem toyotas have then water gets into the charcoal canister. You'll need to replace the charcoal canister and blow out the lines. Thanks for the info. if the KTY14 is the correct kit for the GT. That I don't know. As far as clutches go anything from an OEM will be a step up from an aftermarket replacement part. Resurfacing a flywheel is perfectly fine. The only problem is now days it's almost cheaper just to replace it. I got a quote for $45+ tax...

Re: Any Aftermarket Parts To Smooth the Ride?

You probably have the sport suspension. You could probably downgrade to the standard suspension. That's what I have and it's very smooth.

Increasing the ride height isnt a good idea. It will cause positive camber which will greatly limit your traction in emergency stopping situations.

Re: Make your own oil catch can

What do you mean when you say oily air reduces fuel efficiency? I don't quite get it, if you were to vent the crankcase into the atmosphere you would get the same mpg. Besides the EGR valve gunks up the intake much worse than the crankcase ventilation.

Re: How Replace Driver Airbag Module

How would someone be able to tell if the airbag or the clockspring is bad? If the warning light goes off and on depending on how you turn the wheel it's probably the clockspsring, this is how I knew to replace the one in my malibu. But with a solid light is there any way to tell? Its tough. The air...

Re: How Replace Driver Airbag Module

It it's not the airbag itself, 9/10 times it will be the clock spring. The clock spring is a coil of ribbon wire that allows the steering wheel to turn without twisting the wires to the airbag, cruise control, radio controls, horn etc. Over time the clock spring can wear out and the continuity can s...

Fixed the under shifter compartment. The latch stopped latching this weekend. I brought the tray/cubby into work and fixed it on my lunch break at my desk. Popped off the 2 screws, noticed where the spring is held in by a ridge of plastic. The ridge broke. I made a small hole in the side where the ...

Its not dangerous at all! Just use common sense and be careful (don't play catch with the thing). First things first, you'll need to disarm the airbag module. To do this just disconnect the negative battery cable and pull the air bag fuse. Pulling the fuse is VERY important because even with the bat...

Warped rotors can certainly cause hellish vibration but only when you apply the brakes. Mine had a S. wheel shake at 65-75 mph without brakes, then would shake the wheel way harder when braking. Then you had other problems as well. The pads could have been stuck in the perches or the slides could h...

Re: HELP! Clutch won't disengage!

Technically you could drive it without the clutch but I would only do that as a last resort. As far as bleeding the master or slave cylinder, I don't think the vibe requires any special procedures. Just install the parts and bleed at the bleeder screw. You could have a loose connection, however. Pos...

Re: Steering wheel shake at 60mph

I've had this issue with this before due to lateral runout on the rotors. It went away when I had them turned, then came back because the replacement rotors (which had been turned) were bought when I was low on cash, so they were cheap and crappy. Lots of things can cause this issue, but if you can...

I dont think an alignment would cause these issues. Unless its really bad and you can see major camber or toe issues from outside the car. Tie rod ends sometimes cause wobble when they're really bad but that is always accompanied by front end knocking. You could also feel to see if the tie rod ends ...
