Hey interesting! yeah I have an injen on my vibe actually. Interesting that the one for the Camero comes with that resevoir bottle for water drainage. The one I have doesn't have that.
hey man I bet with your welding skills you could make some really nice strut braces too. You could look at some aftermarket ones for design inspiration and then put your own spin on it.
cool! You know you probably shouldn't need that wiring though. Vibes come pre wired for the fogs so you should just be able to plug them in. Then you just gotta figure out how to hook up that dash switch. Theres a thread about it on here I think the Speedeng guy did it
Hey welcome and congratulations on your 08!As far as engine upgrades a good thing to do is install a K&N drop in filter. There are also a few ways you can modify your stock intake too to get a little better airflow and make it sound better but nothing major. I think removing the charcoal filter ...
Quote, originally posted by star_deceiver » Orange and green! Great man!! looks like your getting some good use out of that trailer hitch. That looks fun. Yeah I'm taking the vibe to go camping myself soon but I'll just be throwing a tent in the hatch.
Quote, originally posted by Kincaid »I've done that before in my 2.4L - but that's just the RS/A's.Yes we need to install a turbo charger on the 2.4 and perhaps it would chirp third!
Roddy you might want to remove your negative battery terminal when tryig to put that back together so that it resets the cars computer. You gotta leave it unplugged for atleast an hour before starting up your car again.
Well congratulations!! but wow three door handles? Did you the incredible hulk riding in your car for a work car pool or something?seriously though, I hope my vibe is still going strong at the 100k mark. So what's your secret? What kind of oil change intervals do you do? Synthetic or conventional? W...
right but even though the filter is placed in the same location the stock air cleaner box doesn't draw it's air from that location. It draws air from a spot further from the engine via a fresh air supply tube. this is the tube I'm talking about. This one goes with a 2.4 engine but I'm sure the 1.8s ...
Roddy you might also want to condsider how having an aftermarket filter will actually affect performance? The K&N typhoon intakes do look cool and increase airflow but, they also place the filter in an area where its able to pick up ambient heat from the engine. That could negate some of the per...
Wow for $240 I wish bought an upgraded radiator instead of the CAI. I now think my CAI (cost $277) was a mistake and want to remove it. The upgraded rad is neat idea but as long as your temp guage isn't telling you the cars running hot when it's sitting there for all that time with the flashing ligh...
Bastrans I don't think you should buy anything to weigh down the back of your car. My best recommendation would be to get your alignment done/checked and to answer you question YES. I think tires would help. If you decide to buy new tires though its probably best to get a matching set for all four w...
Quote, originally posted by jkm311 »I have this K&N drop-in filter, but HOLY CRAP did they raise the price! I snagged mine 3 years ago on Amazon for $35 shipped. Upon checking again, you can't get it now for less than $50 shipped.I know the economy is bad, but come on Amazon! And for what it's ...
I might soon have a sound clip of one of these installed. I think I'm changing my stance on these. before I thought these were pretty much bad but I have a new opinion about them. I still think this doesn't filter as well as paper and I still think the HP gained from one of these is just not noticab...
Congratulations on your 04 vib! and Bem-vindo!! yeah I like having manual cars myself. Once I went manual I never wanted to drive an automatic again!about your grey paint I bet you either have a shadow or moonstone.
ohhh I wonder if you had a bird who was jealous of himself. Have you ever seen that? Its the funniest thing ever. The downside is the bird scratches the heck out of the sideveiw mirrors trying to attack his reflection because he thinks its another bird it its territory. This has happened over at my p...
Hey Welcome! about the parts I think car manufacturers are required by law to keep an inventory of replacement parts for at least ten years after any model car ends production. So you should be fine as for as that goes.I think you'll love the GT. I'd try to get one with a manual if it were me but I'...
Hello.. And please come in! To the genvibe! I'm just saying this this as an alernative to welcome because that's what everyone else says and I would like to say a different thing from the other people!you have a very nice vib too!! I like your vib!!
Hello welcome to Genvibe!! Yeah lets see the pics of the vib! I just recently started thinking that we should all call our vibes vibs! one of them would just be a vib. A pontiac vib. Isn't that the best idea ever!!
Hello bassrocker! Welcome to Genvibe! hope you enjoy the site as much as I do. I have found it very fun and informative. but how about some pics of yur vib!!
Quote, originally posted by A Psycho Martyr »Ok, I'll nominate vibedrivermatt....he's got the bug I'm lovin the how he admits to splurgin too much to go ahead and get the rims, then follows up with an intake. Love it! ohh why thankyou A Psycho Martyr! -note to self- make cedit card payment hehe.
hmmmm chrome paint on the rings would be neat but indeed tricky to get it to look good. Maybe if you found a certain type of chrome paint thats works well or if you applied a clear coat onto it to get it really shiney. or... what would be really cool is if there was a way to get it chrome plated. Th...
You would have to get special OEM lugnuts if you want to use OEM hubcaps with your steel wheels. The lugs nuts are actually extended and have a set of threads on the end. The hubcap attaches to the wheel with plastic nuts that screw onto the threads on the ends of the lugs nuts. It's really a very n...
Thanks! hope I don't either!well today I decided to tinker with the injen intake on the vibe. I was sorta unhappy about it not having a perfect fit so tried a few ways to modify it. It took me a couple of hours but I think I've got a fix that works pretty good with this intake. I made some marks wit...
Nice!! I always loved the WS6. That car looks really great man! soo immaculate! Personally I always digged these a bit more than the cameros. Im sure that will keep its value very nicely over the years. I really love the ram air hood too. I've heard its rumored they used a fire hose to test it out t...
Quote, originally posted by areles »I prepped the winter steelies for powder coating.cool!! I'd like to see the finished result of that. I was going to spay paint my steelies glossy black but I could see powder coating being much more durable for that.
OK well, I just installed an Injen cold air intake today. This part is meant to go on an 09 Corolla XRS 2.4l. This still went on the vibe OK, its just the filter touches the fog light cutout making for a tight fit. I found out about this part from seeing one over on the matrix owners forums. I also ...
You know, think I have noticed a difference. My vibe seems to track very straight, although that could have been because of the vibe having a good alignment. but this part wont fit for those of you who have independent rear suspension. 09+ GT's all have IRS which is actually a nicer rear suspension...
^ Oh thanks! yes I like my black painted rims. according to tiretack they weigh 20.8 lbs. I was going to compare my steel wheels and alloy wheels with tires mounted on a bathroom scale to see if I shed or gained weight. never got to it last time my wheels were removed.
Wow looks like you all had a fun time! Would have been cool though if you had drove through the town in that triangle formation to scare the locals, kinda like an intimidating biker gang!!
I also like the look of the Scion tc wheels on the vibe. Hey vibolista made a nice thread with wheel spec information that could be helpful for people looking at alloy wheels. its called -We need a Vibe wheel size/ offset and tire application sticky...- its a little further down on the wheels/tire t...
Whoa Sa.. weeet!! so what kind of speeds where you guys hitting? that looks like so much fun. ^ditto keithvibe on pocono, I live near enough to there to go if they allowed this type of thing.
My latest parts for the vibe are a set of alloy wheels and summer tires. I sorta splurged to get these. I also did a set of lowering springs to round out the look and further improve handling. heres the look after the TRD springs. these springs are specific to 09. The spings and wheel/tire addition ...
hey guess I should make one of these, figured this would be a good place to post the latest happenings with my vibe as well as to document the happenings of the past.Anyways here it is. My vibe is a carbon grey 2009 2.4l with manual transmission, sun and sound package and power everything. ah these ...
Wow I really dig that Stratos and Lister Corvette. Now my turn!Ok I'll start a 2009 dodge viper SRT-10. I see this one already listed but heres a pic for good measure. Its an AC Cobra. 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. 1995 300zx twin turbo. and..... this last one is just for laughs. Its the 1999 toyota GT...
Whoa nice!! hey when are they gonna start making those for 09? nicest suspension ever! I wanna see pics of the pillow ball mounts installed. did your come with those?
Hey I was impressed by those pictures so I just ordered a can of this stuff along with some other detailing products. I got it for the side cladding pieces on my 09. Its getting kinda faded and bad looking.
Woah thats a nice set up! hey I have the palm pre plus's uncle, the palm pre. I've never thought of hooking it into my car stereo for pandora listening. Think I'm gonna try this too but prob just use my AUX jack. Thanks for the tip!
ohhhh I've had a bad problem with this as well. darn mice were eating my 300zx sports car. boy does that suck. I feel your pain. I keep that car over at my parents and its an area surrounded by some farmland. I have to take extra measures to protect that car now because of the area having an abundan...
yeah that wont do anything to increase your hp. Personally I don't like these types of filters because while they're reusable they don't filter as well as regular paper filters.so for me its the paper filters.
