Buy a cheap box end - open end wrench and grind/slit the box end open just enough to pass over the threaded portion of the switch. This should get the jam nut loose and you will be able to un-tread the switch from the bracket.

From my understanding of how most IAC valves work, yours did exactly what it should do. The IAC is a air by-pass valve around the throttle butterfly valve. This allows for more or less air to flow into the engine when the butterfly is close thus increasing or decreasing the idle speed of the engine....

I will guess that it is heat related. Exhaust heat shield missing? If the line is getting hot and the fluid is boiling. Bad or poor fluid in the system? Exhaust or clutch modified? Improper installation of the clutch? You can get ideas but you are never going to know until you take it apart.

Another possibility but it is most likely the alt. is the OAD (overrunning alternator decoupler pulley). If this goes bad, you will not have the output from the alternator like it should. Of coarse the same thing can happen with a bad drive belt or tension-er.

coppens1, you need to find the exact spot where the water is coming into the cars interior. The only way that you will be able to do that is to pull the interior trim and head liner out. Use a forceful stream of water and start spraying down areas of the car and watching where the water comes in it....

Vibalistic, the SR4408 and SR4409 are for a 1.8L Vibe and not for the 2.4L. These will not work for the OP as he asked for a 2010 with a 2.4L engine. KYB still does not have a listing for the 2.4L.

Standard engine vacuum is measured in inches of mercury and not pounds per square inch (psi). It is a vacuum, not a pressure, which is relative to where you are in elevation.
