Completed the o-ring swap today. Almost had a mishap, while resetting the tensioner the catch pin fell out :? The Vibe does not use any starter shims, either the starter is defective, or their is other damage. When I replaced mine the starter fit snug, it is possible that although the bolts are tight it may not have seated squarely. Depending on if you are a shop will be doing the work, you could get a panel from a salvage yard. The paint will likely be faded just enough to match your current vehicle and the metal and mounting points will be OEM. What price range and color are you working with?

I know some that have used armor all wipes to remove gunk and freshen up the look of wires they were unable to move. The armor all also helped keep the wires clean.

The item in your second pic, you thought might leak, is the lead from the Oxygen sensor off the exhaust pipe below the car. They almost never leak, but if it was replaced they may not have ties the end below the car tight. Sitting still, the grommet and lead would not leak, even driving it would not...

The calcium chloride is bad, but what is worse the they take the salt add calcium chloride then add water to make a brine solution. Then to top it off, they add beet juice or sugar byproducts to make it stick to the road.... and your car. So now you have a rust/corrosion problem that sticks with you...
