well, I like the look of the vibe better but the visibility out the back is better in the trix. That's 1st gen, never been in 2nd gen vibe or trix.

But now that the Vibe's been out of production for over a dozen years, Toyota definitely wins the long term support contest

Sounds strange. Pics would help. You can upload pics here, but there's a ~1MB file size limit, and modern digital cameras make file sizes bigger than that, so you'd have to either crop the pic own or resize it to reduce the file size

Another long shot, but I had a relative's matrix suffer a failed upper motor mount, so bad that when the engine was under enough torque (accelerating), it would shift and open an exhaust joint. Found it by gunning the engine in gear with the brake pressed hard (not moving) and hood open, kinda scary...

can't remember for sure, but I think different 03 Vibe transmissions might have slightly different CV axle lengths, and perhaps your new one was a little shorter than it should have been and got popped when taking a hard turn.

But that is really just vague conjecture

One of times mine broke I set it to fresh and then disconnected the electrical connector. I can't remember the last time I used recirc.

I don't know if the fresh/recird door tends to default to one position or another if the actuator is removed, or if it swings freely depending on its mood.
