Re: Thinking about upgrading to newer model vibe. Any input is appreciated.

Going from 155,000 miles down to 60,400 was worth it. It's a placebo effect if both cars are in equal running condition. A 60k car can break down as much as a 155k car, under the right conditions. I agree. The reliability is meaningful when a large number of samples are considered. For a single car...

Re: Burnt out headlight

I can only say don't bother with the silverstar ultra. They are not so bright compared to these crazy led lights (I am now in a place where it seems every old truck is modified with these blinding leds). But they have awful life. Probably even worse than these cheap leds. I heard Philips headlights ...

Re: I dropped a screwdriver into the intake

Thank you for the replies. I was able to get the scredriver out with a magnetic pick tool. The screwdriver is not very small. I am suprised it did slide down the intake (that leads to the 2nd piston?). After lying in the intake for one day, some oil ate into the clear plastic handle and turned it to...

I dropped a screwdriver into the intake

Hello, everyone. Happy holiday! Today I accidentally dropped a screwdriver into the intake manifold. :D My original plan was just to clean and re-oil the filter, clean the MAF sensor and throttle body. I inserted a screwdriver UNDER the throttle plate and went to get the cleaner. When I came back th...

I think cruising down the interstate is not a heavy work for most of the parts you mentioned. I suggest checking the clips and fasteners on the undercarriage. It will very annoying if some panel flaps under the car because its clips disappeared on the way.

As a Vibe owner, I appreciate the value of this car. And truly wish you find a good home for it.
But it will be hard to impress a buyer when the car is a dead brand and with ~160K miles.

So I recorded this sound clip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/50qeag6bsbhne7o/New%20Recording%202.m4a?dl=0 The ticking noise seems to come from the driver side of the engine.
