What do you guys think I should do? 1. Keep driving, don't do anything different. 2. Disconnect the bags. 3. Park the Vibe, drive a different car. Wife just bought a Volt, I've got her Turbo Sport New Beetle ready for sale... or to drive. Don't get me wrong, I have lots of experience with driving ol...
No fix yet. GM Recall #: N140877 NHTSA Recall #: 2014-568 Date Issued: Feb 11, 2015 Recall Title: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Recall Description: Toyota is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles and 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe vehicles. I have an 04 Vibe. No moonoof. Single CD player. I'm going to order a new headunit from Crutchfield, and I need to figure out exactly what to order for wiring adapters.
Could have been a bit of snow/slush/ice around one of the ABS sensors.
I hear you about the weather. It was -27C/-40C windchill on my way to work yesterday in Ottawa. I'm enjoying the Vibe more this year compared to my diesel Jetta last year that had a bad thermostat!
Treated my Vibe to it's first DIY oil change. It had been exclusively serviced by GM before I got it. Off with the small blue AC Delco filter, on with the big Toyota filter. Drain the cheap bulk oil, in with good synthetic. Also, fixed my hood latch that wasn't working properly. Took the latch off, ...
lol, the VIbe is not a "new" car. It's OBD2. I'm used to driving stuff from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. My "old" stuff doesn't get half the mileage of the "old" Vibe... of course, all my old stuff has a V8!
I agree. I track my mileage every tank. I've put 7500 km on my base O4 since getting it in August, and my average consumption is 7.21l/100km (33MPG US gallon). Best was 6.15l/100km (38MPG US gallon). Mileage has dropped off for the winter with winter blend gas and snow tires (as expected). I gave up...
At 6'7", it's good to know that I'm not the only tall Vibe guy. Now if I could just do something about my knees hitting the door and the gear surround...
2000-mid 2000s VWs (with 5x100) are a great choice for wheels that will fit early Vibes. New Beetle, Golf, Jetta, etc. Not Passat, they have the larger pattern.
Realized I never said hi on this thread! Picked up my mint low KM (130) 04 base 5 speed from the original owner, my sister/brother in law. Flipped my 00 VW TDI Jetta to get in the Vibe. Mileage is close (the Jetta was auto), but the main difference is the lack of annoying regular maintenance that wa...
The best horns you can find are the four note setup found in Cadillacs (and some Buicks) from the 70s-90s. Sounds like a train, no one will steal your parking spot. Easy install.
Go for it. I'm going taller on my next set of summer tires. Just double check your speedo and your odometer with GPS, and do your percentage calculations for mileage.
Looks like NHTSA has answered my question. A silly recall in the first place, many northern states and Provinces have high humidity in the summer. I'm sure this will affect Canada, too. http://jalopnik.com/takata-to-issue-nationwide-airbag-recall-1665618098" onclick="window.open(this.href)...
lol, turns out the nuts are M12x1.5, same as many other vehicles I own. Only found this out after getting the new nuts. I probably have at least 50 or 60 spares out in the garage. Anyways, as you can see in the pic, the taper on the alloy nut is the same, and it engages the full dimension of the ste...
I understand what you are saying, but it isn't a "flat lug against an angled surface". The bottom of the mag lug is clearly tapered. Just want to make sure it is tapered enough, or, at the correct angle. Any other experience/opinions? I'm going to order a set of steel wheel lugs today anyw...
Just did the summer/winter wheel swap on my new to me 04. The stock wheels are the 16" alloys with this lug nut: http://i635.photobucket.com/albums/uu77/trbstang/IMG_20141021_222824_801_zps8a3566f2.jpg The bottom is tapered, and seems to fit the steel wheel fine. Everything is mounted up, I jus...
Wheel bearing, tie rod, control arm bushing, ball joint... all are possibilities. I may be in the same boat. I've had a rumble and a steering wheel shake at highway speed. I swapped to the winters today, so I'm hoping it was a bad summer tire. If not, I will get it up on the lift for an inspection.
Hmm, I like the driving position and the head room. Of course, I'm 6'7". I would like to mount the seat further back! My right knee is on the shifter surround, and my left leg is cramped from the dead pedal.
Base 2004 FWD 5 speed 645 km 42.2L 6.54L/100km (36mpg), rural mixed driving (think 80kph limit, with stop signs every few km). I'm very happy. I gave up a 2000 Jetta TDI for this Vibe, and I knew I would not get as good mileage. So, I've been driving like a grandma. Shifting max 2500 rpm, cruise whe...
Did my first mod on my new to me (bought brand new by my sister/BIL) 2004 Vibe. Removed the factory roof rack cross bars. Hope to max the mileage, I gave up a TDI Jetta for this one.
