Re: C60 Transmission rebuild

Your call. The C60 is rebuildable, but also cheap enough you can snag one from a junkyard to replace it. I had a hell of a time finding a C60, though I was looking for one with a little bit of a warranty and sub 100k miles. No one had them, til I found one kind-of sketchy place that had two. Cost m...

change the fluid. it's a fill plug, and a drain plug. put in new fluid. call it a day. maybe an hour job and you're only out $50 and beer. make sure you undo the fill plug first, just in case it won't come loose.

you won't notice any discernable difference whether you use conventional or synthetic if you change your oil every 3-5k miles. If you go extended times, then synthetic makes more sense.

I usually just buy the air filter at the local parts stores.

That PCM recall has nothing to do with overheating your motor. Additionally, this recall was not applicable to ALL 2005-2008 Vibes. It states certain vehicles in that time period. If your motor overheated, your best bet is to replace it. The ECU won't detect anything overheating; your only indicatio...

did you have a new clutch installed with the rebuild? could be a misaligned clutch, the pressure plate is broken, etc. nothing that can really be diagnosed without tearing it apart. you would have to loosen that inner nut closer to the body of the switch.

If you're just diagnosing to see if that's the issue, jump the wiring harness with a paper clip and see how it goes from there.

It would bolt right in...You'd have to swap several things, ECU included. Likely the engine bay wiring, and potentially find ways to bypass the clutch switches if the auto ECU doesn't do that. TBH, your best bet would be to swap in a C60 (6 speed). Slightly worse fuel economy due to different gearin...
