It was a little struggle, as the brass center of the old rubber bushings were basically welded on with corrosion but some PB Blaster and a pencil torch did the trick. I've gotten all sorts of things inside of it. I was impressed that you can fit a 6' ladder into it and still close the hatch. In fact I once moved a 6x2x2 water heater in it and closed the hatch. Who needs a truck? :D

I know there's a weird TSB on that engine for oil consumption. It states that under filling the crankcase can somehow cause it. They've went as far as to redesign the dipstick moving the cross hatch area up. But from what I've heard it's an issue with the piston rings.

Sounds like a CV axle to me. I had one so bad once that you'd be going down the highway and everything would be fine then out of nowhere it would shake like crazy and you felt like you were losing all control and then it would be fine again the next second.

It should pop right in. If you are unsure you can tap on the inner cv joint (as if to remove it) and see if it moves. If it's fully inserted you should get no movement.

You can't really test O2 sensors. If one has failed electrically, it will throw a code for it. The only way an o2 could cause a 420 is if it still reads but is reading inaccurately. And even then it would have to be within range, which is rare. Besides if it was reading incorrectly, the air/fuel rat...

Yup that's totally normal. The fluid level is slightly higher than the hole the cv goes into. Just make sure you fill it back up. Put a little bit in and then drive it and check the level again. Don't just fill it up and assume it's full. You have to drive it before you get a true reading.
