Re: Injen CAI question for those that have one (konabri)

Good one Iinen! I have an Injen CAI on my 04 Base. While it is definetly not a asphalt burning car, with the CAI at least I now have that bit of power needed to get out of my own way. I don't think you'll have any regrets.

Ooops Correction. I will be getting 225x50x16" tires. Tech told me that the 225x55x16 would cause problems with the front suspension, possible rubbing due to added height.

Re: 225/55/16? (remusrm)

I will be getting a set of Yokohama Avid 225x55x16" installed at Discount Tire Friday morning. The Tech there looked it up and said that they will work just fine. My Contis are almost to the tread wear indicators after just 26,000 miles, so I thought I'd replace them with a better tire that wil...

I have the Injen CAI on my 2004 Base and have had no problems with it even in torrential down pours, car washes etc. As with any vehicle, just use discretion when approaching standing water. enjoy

Picked up a wicker patio set last summer (love seat, table and two chairs). Took some wiggling but managed to get them in and close the hatch and doors. Actually had a small audience watching me load them. Snickering and such..until I closed the doors..Then they applauded!! Gotta love the versatilit...

Re: Base Vibe intake questions, PLEASE HELP >.< very confused. (lordsaber)

Like Zuben, I went with the Injen CAI on my 2004 Base and am very pleased with it. Easy install (pull back the wheel well liner to fit the filter on.), Good Looking, Great Sound and Noticable Gain in performance. Keep in mind our Bases are not asphalt burning machines but the CAI sure makes them mor...

I still have the original Contis on my Base Vibe and have had no problems, 26,500 miles and plenty of tread left. Also, I make it a point to follow the rotation schedule, check tire pressure etc. Was also very pleased in the winter here, handled up to 8" of the white stuff pretty well. Maybe ju...

Yes they are Fa Ugly! Was out in my driveway with the hairdryer, fishing line and adhesive remover within an Hour of picking up my Vibe. The wife thought I was nutz, but agreed that the Vibe looks much better and cleaner without that crap.

Re: Driving in Snow (GaryJ73167)

I was impressed with my Vibe's handling in the snow. My first Non-4x4 in 15 years. The stock Conti's (I Know ...I know ...many folks hate em) on the 16" rims work fine here in Chicagoland. Being a Base Vibe it's hard to over power the tires and traction doesn't suffer too much. Deepest snow thi...

Defenitely go to your pontiac dealer. My dealer used the VIN??number to match the appropriate lot of paint for my Abyss Vibe. The color is virtually a perfect match.

2004 Base, Auto. First non-V-8 I have had since 1987...but I love the damn thing. Learning from all the other Vibe/Matrix owners. For example, the CAI IS trully the ticket for an easy, realtively inexpensive mod. Did mine, an Injen, last weekend and have not been able to keep my foot off the loud pe...

Hey damronjr, I literally just installed one in my 2004 Base. No CARB sticker. The one I originally ordered from Ptuning arrived damaged (w/o CARB sticker). But when he saw it was now out of stock, Toan a very cool sales rep there, was good enough to have one drop-shipped directly from Injen. Arrive...

Just got an Injen CAI for my 2004 Base. Hopefully, the CAI will allow my Vibe to at least get out of it's own way now...... Seriously, our Base Vibes are not street scorchers by any stretch. I'd guess 0-60 times run in the 9 - 10+ second range depending on driving techniques. From like 35 to 65 mine...

Well, the Injen CAI arrived via FedEx from Injen.....Damaged! The mounting flange was actually protruding through the box and bent. Talk about a buzzkill. I have a dumb question for the group. Every vehicle I have driven lately allows the front passangers to exi...

Cold Air Induction - What Kind of HP/Torque Gains Can Be Expected

I'm a newbie to the forum and am glad to see so many fellow Vibe enthusiasts. Just purchased a 2004 base Vibe. Not many options...just power pkg, monochromatic Abyss paint, 16" alloy rims. While I've only owned it for 4 weeks I am really having a blast with it! Of course being a gearhead I alre...
