the TPS on the Vibe works using the ABS sensor to detect a speed differential. That's one reason it takes so long (up to 50 miles) to recalibrate. There are not any special sensors, at least not up to '06.

Next, our cars shouldn't have dexcool in them, they should have Toyota's red antifreeze in them. The engine block and such are all Toyota, the radiator MIGHT be made by GM, via ACDelco, but I'd rather have the correct AF in mine...on this one, the manual is right - 30K or 2yr interval.

Yep, looks like you need a wheel too, that's $600 new. (Or $100 for a slightly used 1 that I am selling). The paint also will run the price up, a lot harder to mix and match than a standard colour. Plus, from the angle of the pic, looks like the damage goes under the taillight, that's a lot of pulli...

Mine did. I ended up putting wheelie bars on it after my dad caught me doing wheel stands....it would pull the front wheels a foot or more (lots more a few times LOL) off the ground. I had the Chrysler V8 and a 3 speed manual in mine, factory.

Doesn't sound good. Here's what all is there. #14 is the sensor 'excitor'. If the timing chain moved, you've hurt the motor.

I just checked. All Vibes have the transmission controls built into the PCM, (Powertrain Control Module) There is no independant transmission computer. the 2nd Gen's bad habit of breaking timing belts at 13K miles and killing the engine scared a lot of people off too. The Eclispe was pretty much a US market car only, the new car is based more on the FTO than the previous car.

1st, is the servicing dealer the selling dealer? If not, take it back there if possible. Don't pay them a cent to diagnosis a problem on a car with 18K miles. 2nd, call the Pontiac consumer helpline, and get a case started. 18K is too early for a clutch to go out, even in a GT.

Wow, I've never seen such a crappy set of WeatherTech's. The GMSPO version fits perfect and holds plenty of water, mud, snow, ect...I'd go that route before I kept those ill-fitting things. IMHO, YMMV, ect.

Look for rust under the rear hatch window and both the hatch and the window weatherstrip. Both areas are prone to rust, and GM has a bulliten about rear at the bottom of the rear window under the weatherstrip.

All GM cars since 1985 require 5w30, with the exception of the Corvettes, and a few others the require Mobile 1 (5w30). I personally use 0w20 Mobil 1 in my car now, since it's all very short trips (under 5 miles), and I still change it at least every 4k miles.15,000 miles is WAYyyyyyyyy too many mil...

Be careful with the white paint, it's single stage paint, not cleared. Same for the bright red. A freind of mine had a red Supra years ago, he colour-sanded it and Clear coated it......looked like a totally different car.

On the mac only. Drive #1 is still formatted in MS-DOS, Drive #2 is formatted in MAC OS-Extended. They both show up at exactly 298.1 gig.P.S. maybe we need a new forum, "Computer and Internet help-desk"?
