Re: (Wolfman213)

Wolfman,It doesn't seem to snap into place. It will easily pull right out the front again if I pull forward on it slightly. It is sliding into each track molded into the housing, But I'm wondering if I am missing a clip or claw part that the service manual mentions??? What do you think?

Re: (scherry2)

I have pushed mine in from the front and they slide into the tabs on the side, but they don't seem to lock. Is there supposed to be clips in those side tabs which maybe I am missing?

Need help installing fog lights - The NERF balls need to go

Well, it's time to install the new fog lights that I bought. When I bought the car last June at a dealership, I hadn't noticed the NERF ball fog lights. You can view the set up in my picture files below. I could use some help, I notice the wire harnesses are intact. Is it really necessary to remove ...

Are your brakes extremely touchy?

I've never experienced such grabby brakes as are in my 03 Vibe GT. I was thinking something had to be wrong with them, but when took them in for an inspection, was told everything looked fine. Are Vibes known for touchy brakes? I just barely have to press them to experience a sudden halt. Seems a li...

Re: (Jeremy96gase)

I recently found a website for fog light protectors. It sounds like a very similiar product as what was originally on this post. Go to lamin-x.com A set for my 03' vibe was $22.00 shipping included. I'm looking forward to replacing my NERF ball fog light replacements with new lights and protectors.

Great idea! I haven't done that since I was 16. It sounds like fun. Bring on the snow. Your tone was fine, that's how my dad used to get my attention. Thanks a bunch.

Re: Headlight/Taillight Restoration (epcIII)

epcIII,Wow, it looks great! I'm working on mine today. I started a few weeks ago and spent hours on the first sanding phase. My lights had tiny cracks in the plastic, no yellowing or discoloration. I have been trying to get a uniform clouding but in some spots I couldn't achieve it and I wasn't sure...

keithvibe, Thanks for your right to the point comment. You're right, I shouldn't be on the road without snow tires. I will buck up and spend the money. It's worth it. Hurting anyone would be the last thing I would want to do.Thanks everyone for the input, it's much appreciated

Does anyone have link for color codes to cross reference with Matrix?

I'm ordering an interior access cover through Toyota and trying to make sure I get the correct color of cover. They want my VIN# to get the right part for me, but that's not going to help us since I don't own a Toyota. Is there a link where I can cross reference they color code of my Vibe with a Mat...

How does your FWD GT handle in winter conditions?

If you have a FWD GT and drive in snow and ice with it, could you share with me if you use all season tires or snow tires? Do you have 16's or 17 inch rims? This will be my first winter with a FWD and I'm a sissy with winter driving. I'm trying to decide on all season's or snows. Finances are an issue.

Did you use the steam cleaner on the headliner and carpet? If so, were the results good? They seem like an odd material. I wasn't sure if they would handle the water very well.

The Nerf ball currently in my fog holes is black on one side and BRIGHT GREEN on the other side. They are a snug fit and stay in well.

What do you use on your outside trim to preserve it?

My vibe is salsa with the grey trim around the bottom of the car. Sorry but I don't know what that trim is called so I found it hard to search for this answer. My trim was looking streaked and dry so I stopped into a car dealership and asked their detailing person what he recommended on the trim. He...

A temp fix for busted fog lights

Here is a quick fiz for broken fog lights and it looks good, so good that when I bought my vibe I didn't even notice the fogs were missing. Mine came with NERF balls, black side turned out, stuck in the fog holes. The balls are about 4" in diameter. I didn't realize it till the first wash after...

Clean headliner with Rinse/Vac carpet cleaner

Has anyone tried using a wet vac to clean their headliner? If so, were the results good? I was thinking of trying the wet vac on the carpet as well. The material seems so "feltish" not like the crushed velvet feel of older cars.

Mirror buttons what are they?

I looked in my owner's manual but it did not state what the buttons are on my rear view mirror. (I pushed them but nothing seemed to happen) They are on the bottom of the mirror and on each side of the lever that you adjust when someone's headlights behind you are blinding you.

03 GT rim help needed confused

I'm confused. As I've searched and read the past posts many are in such technical terms, I just can't wrap my simple brain around them. I'm a brand new Gen Vibe member, just bought my first Vibe, an 03 GT 6sp FWD. It has come with the optional 17' alloy wheels and 21550ZR17 89H tires. This coming Tu...
