a little update... Located a spare alternator through a friend to test out. The rattle is not coming from the alternator, I don't know what sound I was hearing when I thought I heard it. Turns out it is the waterpump. I'm about 70% into the job (still putting everything back together). Fingers cross...

Well the filter was still extremely difficult to get off. Maybe I tightened too much last oil change. couldn't get it off with the band wrench that I had so I went out and got a filter cap wrench. Got it off in 3 seconds. Worked like a charm. If I had more leverage I could probably use a clamp or ba...

Don't feel stupid. First time I did an oil change I drained the transmission fluid thinking it was the oil. I then proceeded to add 4 liters of oil. Thank god I never started the car.

I'm pretty new to changing my own oil. I'm about to do it for the 2nd time. I noticed last time the oil filter was very tight. Took two of us to get it off. Is this normal? Should I expect this the second time?

I can vouch for PlastX. Works like a charm. You may have to use a fine grit sand paper if the stains are etched in, then polish with PLastx.
