Re: Part number for dashboard Airbag cover

This must be a default feature of the recall service! That happened to me! Corner of cover sticks up about 1/4" now. Yes, with OCD it is a VERY big deal!

Re: Poor acceleration

Did the issue start after spark plug change? If yes, wire/connection damage? Correct plugs - not just what the 'parts book' shows, or what was already in there, but what is listed in owners manual? Does the owners manual "recommend" higher octane fuel, if yes use it, if not, you're wasting...

Re: Tail lights don't light with headlight switch, dash dimmer doesn't work

Sounds like a ground issue, but , it could be that in certain modes the electrons are finding ground at the wrong place in their journey. My 85 Saab had a similar issue. The cause was a short in the taillight fixture itself. Over the years heat had melted a small plastic tab and allowed 2 wire strip...

Re: How to remove plastic pillar cover, Passenger side

Yes, it just pops of. It may be tight, but it is held in with plastic "christmas tree" type push pins. I just pull the rubber door seal loose and start wiggling the panel as I pull and it pops right off. If there is a leak you really should seal it on the outside of the car.

Thank you all. Yes I am using LED's. Have a lot of them in use. Yes, polarity check. Yes, believe I have a bad (-) wire, measures full v when I ground to chassis.

map light wire shows 7.5 volts

I have an 06 base Vibe. My license plate bulbs burned out. I used my map light bulbs as I needed license plate illumination right now! Anyway, later I got bulbs and put them in my map light - no light. The map light previously did work, I turned them on to make sure the bulbs were good before I put ...

Re: Rear view Mirror Lights

in forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=9745 ragingfish said its a #192. I haven't replaced mine for a long time, but I remember that they just pull out. I had to use needlenose pliers to get a bad one out, and yes, I think I broke the bad bulb glass before I got it out. Just looked a...

Re: AC recirculate gear repair, Orlando, FL

Suggestion: Take off the motor. With it removed, plug it back in. Run the motor 180 degrees. This may bypass broken teeth. Add a "momentary contact push-button switch" inline. I just let mine hang loose inside the glove box. If you can, find a nice place to put it in the dash or an empty s...

Re: Reprogram door locks?

Resolution! Sorry to waste your time. I had 3 dead lock motors and apparently that was confusing the computer! I replaced both front locks & now have consistent NON-automatic operation. All is good for now even with one back door motor still dead. 8-) Thanks for the input. Really like the...

Re: Reprogram door locks?

Did not lose any radio pre-sets. No one is around to disconnect the battery, out in the country. Post clamps are clean & tight. Just a few minutes ago, doors are already unlocked, got in, started and put it in "D" & the locks cycled to "lock & unlock". Drove the car, ...

Re: Reprogram door locks?

Just purchased a 2006 "base" Vibe. I did the power door lock "dance" to set mine to #2- "OFF" mode - no locking or unlocking. The problem is after about 2 or 3 drives the doors will be in a mode that every time the key is inserted or removed the locks go thru a lock &am...

Re: Radio lights going out

I wish I thought of this BEFORE I replaced my bulbs - Don't unsolder the old bulbs! Just nip the wire legs next to the glass bulb body... Then you wont make a mess of the circuit board like I did! Just solder the new bulb legs to the old ones! So much neater, cleaner, and easier... Now to fin...

Re: Disc brake clunking noise during the first stop moving forward or backward (DressedInBlack)

I know this is a year late, but my 05 vibe does the same and I don't worry as I had the same issue with my 85 Saab after I replaced a caliper. The shims/spacers wouldn't ever seat tight enough not to fall out. The whole caliper unit would move and cause a clunk. I put 50,000 miles on the rebuilt cal...

Re: (djkeev)

Glad your problem is fixed. My comment is be sure you check the heater/ac blower housing for rodent stored food or droppings. My limited experience with just 3 vibes, and ALL 3 had acorns stored in the blower box AND the engine air filter box!!!!! 2 of the vibes had been GARAGE kept!... cover all th...
