ou.grizzly,FYI:The only dealer in my town has one Vibe left. It is a white GT, 2010 I believe. I have no idea what the options are.If you would like me to find out the details, just let me know.I live in Martinsburg,WV 25401(Eastern Panhandle of WV). The dealer is Parsons Opequon Motors, ph.#1-304-2...
My '09 GT w/AT speedometer would read 64mph when I was doing an actual 60mph. This was with the tire air pressure at 32psi. So I increased the PSI to 40 & now the speedometer reads 61-62mph.I never thought that it would change the reading that much, but since I wanted a little better MPG I thoug...
If you have stitching on your strg. whl., you've got leather.Don't know about the shift knob. My leather knob looks like it could be PLASTIC.Oh, WELCOME and enjoy your VIBE!
Have you read the part in the manual where it says"5k miles or THREE MONTHS, whichever comes first"? Where did the 3 month interval come from? That sounds like a lot of oil changes to me! I WAS thinking of going synthetic, but EVERY THREE MONTHS! I think I'm going to have to contact a GM r...
You're right about that filter wrench socket. I was nosing around a Pep Boys today & saw those. I took a Puro PL14477 off the shelf & found the appropriate size wrench. Then it hit me, "I think I've got one of these at home somewhere." So, when I returned home I started digging thr...
OK, here's an update. I did the oil change today. The filter IS located to the left of the oil pan(as you are facing the engine from the front of the car), but it is in front of the pan also. There is a plastic shroud beneath the filter that leaves a hand sized hole to reach up to grasp the filter. ...
I hope that you're looking at some Vibes as I type this! Good Luck with finding what you want.As for dealers not wanting to trade vehicles, when my dealer found the Vibe that I wanted, 165mi. away, the other dlr. said,"No, I don't want a DX(dealer exchange), just come & take it off my lot '...
OK, I used the search feature for this question but no one answered the question very clearly. My old 2003 had the filter up front, where it was easy to see from the top of the engine. I'm trying to decide whether to catch some of the current oil sales & do the changes myself. But, being lazy &a...
So far, after 800 mi., I have logged the following mpg's: 1st partial fill-up - 24mpg(90% city) 2nd part. f.u. - 27mpg(75% city) 3rd part. f.u. - 28mpg(75% city)All of these were done with conservative driving(only stomped it once!), but not using any hypermiling techniques.As a reference, my 2003 V...
lowincash,My 2009 GT's speedometer shows 64 mph when I'm actually doing 60(according to Interstate mile markers). So I think the 18" wheels make the GT read a little more optimistic.
I have a 2003 Base, Satellite, AT w/49,000 miles that is being passed on to my daughter. No problems whatsoever. And I just purchased a 2009 GT, Red Hot Met., AT w/8 miles that "seems" to be a better car. Hope it holds up like the old one!
Just 2 chips that I can see. One, on the door edge, looks like someone took a knife and put a very small notch in the edge. The other is on the front lower fascia(probably from the 160 mi. DX) and is apprx. 1/16", the result of road debris.Sorry if this is off topic, but I wanted Whelan's opinio...
Whelan, should I use the above method for the following circumstance & color: 2009 Vibe GT, Red Hot Met., just brought home w/200 miles on it now. I have a few chips to fix, once I get the touch up tube(one on frt. air dam & one on door edge). Do I fix them before I put anything on the finis...
Just purchased my 2nd Vibe. A 2009 GT in Red Hot Metallic w/AT. I wasn't even interested in a new car until last week, but the deals were too good to not grab. I was sold on my 2003 & never wanted anything more, but this thing is SWEET. I can't believe the smoother ride, the quietness & the ...
I currently own a 2003 Vibe & with all the deals going around, I am thinking of getting a "new" 2009. My current Vibe is 1.8L/Auto. I'd appreciate anyone's opinion on the 2.4L engine. I would appreciate a little more power, but I also would like to keep as much MPG as possible. Any opi...
Does anyone know if the '04's have a clear cover on that sensor? I took off my gray('03) cover, put clear 'plastic-wrap' over it, replaced it into the dash, and it works very well now. It works as well as other 'dusk/dawn' sensors I've owned. Now, I would like to replace the 'Man-From-Glad' cover wi...
I took off the tinted cover, covered the sensor with plastic wrap and have been using this fix for the past 2 months. It seems to work very well and this has been during a very rainy and cloudy Spring. Now I'm trying to find a hard clear cover that I can "rig" on top of the sensor, so that...
My dealer had Johnson film. Regular tint was $180. Titanium (silver reflective) film was $220. including strip at top of windshield. This goes great with my Satellite paint.
I have 2 questions about the "new" news on the home page. Does that S/C change the CAI that I was thinking about purchasing(and which many of you already have), and can anyone tell me the brand & model of the wheels on the Vibe shown with the Sports Trim Package??
I'm thinking of installing a CAI, but I would like some feedback on what the CAI does to the sound of the engine(at idle, mid-range revs & near redline). Also, since I only have the Base/Auto, would I really hear and feel(response-wise) the difference? I'd appreciate hearing about any of your ex...
Just installed my Hidden Hitch. A quick, easy & clean looking install. I took off the decals & spray painted the hitch flat black Rustoleum. It really blends into the undercarriage. Purchased from etrailer.com it was $100. + $10. ship. When I checked out, I typed "genvibe" into the...
Hi GT_03, looks like a great addition to your Vibe! What kind of sound change from stock? Would my Base sound comparable (with a CAI) up to the point that you hit LIFT? I've been thinking of a CAI, but don't know if it would really benefit my Base/Auto. Glad to see you enjoying yours!G.W.
I just purchased an A Spec front strut brace. I understand about tightening the studs, but what about the adjustment nuts for the spacing between the struts? Can you use this adjustment to lenghthen or shorten this bar to the detriment of you suspension? What do you really do with that adjustment?
I've had the WeatherTech's on my last 3 vehicles('97 Malibu, '98 Sonoma, & '02 Sedona) and they really are well made. They are a little tricky to install(you have to bend them slightly), but once installed, they stay in place and IMO they are the best looking deflectors I've seen. And though I'v...
