First, in a Vibe,m there is an antenna amplifier built into the antenna base, it gets power from the radio. I don't remember seeing that in the door of my 03, but that doesn't mean its not there.

One relatively quick thing to check is to see if the noise is present when the serpentine belt is removed. That looks really nice. The 03 GT also was rated at the 180 HP, later years dropped to 173.
