My 03 does that. Unlock with the remote and do not open a door, it will auto re-lock. I also think there's no way to change it. A security "feature", kinda makes sense. I havent found it to be a problem, if I ever hit unlock instead of lock while walking away and it auto re-locked, I didnt notice

I thought I had a similar problem in my 03 with M&T, and was preparing to full diagnostic when I discovered that the terminal lug had completely corroded off the white wire going to my front driver speaker .So I had an easy fix.

I bought this one used about 60k miles ago

The cost of the repair will very likely get you a better car than the same amount of money would if spent on a different car. Also check junkyards, and number near me offer installation, they might be another place to price shop for the work.

I don't know. I always thought factory power locks only came with power windows, cruise, and keyless entry. If it were me, I'd risk $10, buy a fob off ebay and see if it works. If it doesn't, (and you know its not a dead battery in the fob) you could try to re-sell it here to recover some of the cost

Its also a good idea to check and clean both battery terminals. Corrosion build up can cause low current things to work fine but prevent the high current starter from getting enough juice.

My 2003 does not have plastic wheel well liners in the rear. The rear wheel wells are just undercoated body metal. The fronts have plastic liners, but my rear wheel wells do not. I'd bet your 2005 is the same

The fog light relay is in the underhood fuse block.
