Clearing out the garage storage space and found these stock springs, Came off of an '05 base model and had approx 60k on them when removed. No damage, have not been cut or bent. $50 or best offer, im just trying to clean out the garage. I will ship at your expense thanks for looking! http://i49.tiny...
Sorry for the confusion, this was more of an overall question, not just for the vibe. My friend has a 240sx and he "hired" me to hunt down a setup for him. Those sizes were for the stock speakers in a nissan, not the vibe. My concern was with the small 4" speakers and the oddly shaped...
hey guys, im starting a new project soon and id some thoughts on different ideas for the sound system. Feel free to suggest alternatives or other ideas, there is nothing better than a good think tank for stuff like this. Basically its 4" speakers in the front, 4"x6" in the back and th...
Well it was a very bent lower control arm and a slightly bent ball joint. I got an estimate over $1,000 so after spending $180 at advance auto ill be replacing those today. Thanks for everyones suggestions with this, im glad it wasnt something worse...
thanks for the quick reply, i know its a bad situation and im probably going to take it to discount tire or a local shop we usually go to and get it checked out in the morning.
Hey guys i know this is going to make me sound horrible but i really just want to figure out what could be wrong so i can get it fixed.Recap, I got off work and we were in the middle of a bad rain storm, on my way home i lost control on a turn in my neighborhood and slid into a curb with my front dr...
I dont think we are on the same page with the caulk. ive decided to just stick with my fatmat and black weatherseal tape for the edges and points of contact.
Sorry ive been off for a while now, i didnt mean using the caulk as an adhesive but rather a more flexible means of padding the panels. Like taking the panel off, laying down a bead of caulk and letting it dry so that the line of silicone acted as a strip of padding.Ill take a good look at that writ...
I just ordered a 50sq ft bulk pack of fatmat and i was thinking about the actual panels in the trunk, would it do any good to lay a bead of caulk where the panels would make contact with the metal to eliminate any rattle? for example the plastic piece that snaps onto the inside of the hatch; it is c...
Sorry to dig this up again but im definitely in for a group buy on just about any kind of aftermarket tail lights. ANYTHING to change the look of these stock ones.
Im gonna try this over spring break next week, for such a low cost mod its certainly worth a shot. Hopefully it will give me a nice sideskirt look because buying the graphite side skirts AND my H.techs might start scraping over bumps
Ive got some dirty in-progress pics for this month! If you can ignore the temporary off-color paint and the bare patches of body filler, i just installed a set of Tein High Tech lowering springs with the stock struts. It was a considerable drop, i have the stock alloys and there is a 2 finger gap in...
This bump is for real, haha.Im in the process of shaving the front arrow and the rear "pontiac" hatch inlaid logo from mine with some bondo and touch up paint, i might hate how it turns out but i did a photoshop mock and i liked it so we shall see! Ill be sure to post some pics of a comple...
Nothing mechanical, ive got some cosmetic things that need to be taken care of when ive got the time and cash.My younger brother is learning to drive and gashed my car on the mailbox, so after a half-assed repair attempt that still looks bad. Then my black wheel paint faded and needs to be redone wi...
Thats awesome man, yeah that was mine with the improvised body work, haha. im actually in the middle of redoing some things, especially my wheels and audio.
Haha, no but i was parked under the building. Ill have to pull in a little further and help represent. Glad to see someone else not only going to events but also on here.
I dont know how many members we have in the atlanta area but the first thursday of every month (not sure of the specific times, probably around 6 to 10-11 when people start leaving) there is a pretty decent car show at the Varsity downtown. Its all perfectly legal, the varsity practically sponsors i...
Okay thats more like it. Ive gone through the routine with other switches and it worked before, but now ive dropped money on this switch panel and it looks alot better than the faceplate i made with plexiglass. i had a thought on the way home today that involved using the power from the switch panel...
Alright i suppose thats my only option, but i was looking to be able to use them all separately, say switch one for interior, switch two for exterior, switch three for the trunk and the fourth for the engine bay.
Sorry for the crude paint pics, i dont have the switch panel yet or i wouldve taken pictures of each. Basically both controllers are made to put power and ground to each circuit, but i need a way to somehow combine them.
Okay so the guys over at the12volt couldnt help me with this, and right now it seems impossible.Ive got two components, both streetglow, one is a 5 Switch Panel (SGSW5) and the other is the Music Interface (ANMI-2). they both have 2 wire hookups for power and then 4 two wire outputs. I'd like to use...
that thing is enormous. obviously i have some more poking around to do before i spend any money. looks like im back to making lists and finding new options. seems like you guys are always great at opening my eyes to new possibilities.
Yeah from what ive experienced the caraudio forums are not a pleasant place. and thanks for the tip on the R's power hunger, ill probably run 900w at 2ohms from a more powerful kenwood amp with the gain set pretty low. though if by some miracle my budget grows the MB Quart Onyx series looks amazing....
I also think im going to go for all alpine type-R speakers. i know im paying for the name but those grills and colors go with my interior so well and they are still good quality.
lets see, they were kenwood amplifiers, im pretty dead set on them and they had pretty good prices on sonicelectronix but ill shop around when i have all the funds i need. reason being they are identical in their dimensions so i could make a completely symmetrical enclosure/amp rack for the trunk
Well im pretty sure it goes E, S, R and the highest is the Type-X, but its like $80 more and would require a more expensive amplifier. I was originally going to use a PowerAcoustik BAMF 1800/2 bridged, but since the two things wrong with my current setup are the amp and the poorly built box, id like...
Ive been looking around and a few people suggested a 12" from Fi Audio. its a bit more expensive but its hand assembled and takes 800 watts at 2 ohms. I might just stick with the R though, its nice and strong, looks good inverted, and its not as hungry for space like similar subwoofers
Nobody has an opinion on this? I think im going to go with the Kenwood amplifiers, Alpine Type-R sub, and Kicker speakers. Ill probably chat with crutchfield and some best buy installers if nobody cares to comment on here.
I asked around on caraudio.com and ill be honest those guys were nowhere near as friendly as our little family. Anyway, im looking at stereo upgrades again, ive still got the stock M&T system with an aftermarket Sony head unit, and alpine e10's that need to be replaced. So im just looking for fee...
theoretically you could remove the stock amp and replace it with a more powerful one, but you would have to take into account the pre-amplified signal from the stereo as well as the 2 ohm resistance from the speakers, and a mess of wiring with those stock stereo harnesses. I dont think an EQ would c...
I may have read that wrong but if you use an ipod and switches inline with your radio wires, you would have a signal from the ipod without any amplification. Meaning the same amount of power that you use with headphones... The soldering technique actually wires it in to the radio to make an actual i...
Yeah they're inside the housing, I took the headlights off of the car (after removing the bumper of course) and about 7 minutes in the oven did the trick to open them up. I separated the "chrome" housing from the clear lense and just superglued the strip right to the plastic chrome peice s...
Thanks guys, the passenger side strip should be coming in today i cant wait to put it on. Ive been looking into taillight LED mods and i just cant seem to decide how i want to get it done. Keep the unique ideas flowing I love reading (and seeing pics) about all of them.
If youre using the SLC4 like alot of people then the head unit RMS doesnt matter so much, most of the low to mid grade head units have been 15 and 20 watts per channel but with an adjustable gain level you can just set the SLC4 to a higher or lower level for your car.
yeah thats about the idea, i think the flared look from the bumpers and wheel wells would look even better with cleaner doors. especially if i get the roof caps like i want to.
Yeah the headlights are going to take some careful time, but i just ordered 19" flexible led strips and ill be installing over the thanksgiving break. also a flat strip of red LEDs for the lower center grill
you could potentially tap into the door lock circuit, its electronic after all, find a positive that switches on with the door lock, and ground it, then wire that do a small speaker or horn, or a stock alarm "chirp" systemother than a full alarm installation thats my two cents.
Other than it being the wrong type of CD i dont know why it would reject it, however that would take a few seconds for the drive to read the disk and realize its the wrong type.
I want to say its a 4 channel amplifier with the tweeters running off of the front door speaker signal, no idea on the wattage but its nothing too impressive, they are 2 ohm speakers after all. go ahead and install the new speakers with the crossovers they came with and if you notice a lack of power...
if you do choose to go the "new stereo" route i wouldnt buy it from best buy. nothing against them but you can get things online alot cheaper. Crutchfield and Sonic Electronix both include free installation parts, and installation really isnt that difficult, there is alot of support online.
