Re: get 2009 Vibe, or 2010 Vibe?

Mine developed the oil burning issue sometime after 100,000 miles out of the blue. I'm almost at 150,000.

I believe they corrected the issue in the '10 model. Personally, I'd go for that.

$2.06. Arkansas apparently has higher gas tax than the boarder states. Towns close to the boarder states have gas under $2.00. I of course, live smack dab in the center of the state where it's still over $2.00 a gallon.

I'm not 100% sure on your first generation Vibe, but on my 09 model the low beams have to be turned on in order for the fogs to work. Several members have done independent fog light mods. I also did some sound dampening. I used Frost King duct insulation, I didn't want to chance smell. Its $20.00 a roll and has no smell out of the package.

I used Frost King duct insulation to add some sound deadening. Its 20.00 a roll, and one roll will do the entire hatch and a door. It's also extremely lightweight.

I also used some 3M aerosol adhesive to make sure it would actually stick. Tons of rattle gone in the hatch area.

My car seems to be burning around 3/4 of a quart in 1000 miles. Toyota says that burning a quart in 1200 miles is in their "normal" threshold. Mine never showed any oil burning and it just all happened at once. I found the Toyota TSB and posted it here: http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/vie...

Here is the Toyota TSB on the oil burning issue. Apparently, it is "normal" to burn a quart of oil in 1200 miles. Seems excessive to me.
