Re: CHEAPEST intake available?? (A Psycho Martyr)

Get an ebay SRI. It's 24$ plus 15$ shipping that's 40 dollars. To do a custom intake your going to hack up your old intake system making it irreversable and a cone filter at a parts store will cost you at minimum 20$ and a pvc pipe 8$ so you'll save maybe 10$ and won't be as nice looking or as well ...

Injectors

Just ordered a set of injectors for my vibe GT. 440cc injectors. My question is how good is the stock ecu fuel trim? I ordered a fuel management computer, that didn't work and have to send it back now. Do you know is the stock ecu capable of a 50% long term fuel trim(LTFT) without throwing a code? F...

e-manange wiring and settings

anyone have experience with the e-manage blue? I just got one and I hooked it up, but I'm not sure what the 3 dials need to be set to and the maf sensor circuit, I have a 2zz-ge pontiac vibe. The vibe gt wiring diagram has a maf sensor high and a maf sensor low, Dunno which one to splice into. let m...

congrats on joining the club. If you need new parts for your interior to fix it up, the toyota matrix has the exact same interior accept the pontiac emblem on the steeringwheel. most parts with the matrix are interchangable accept the exterior body parts. there are more aftermarket parts for the mat...

valve spring compressor tool

Was wondering if anyone knows a good place to buy the valve spring compressor tool needed for doing a valve adjustment on a vibe gt with the 2zz-ge motor in it. This is the tool that allows you to remove the shims without removing the camshaft or cylinder head.

Re: Turbo engine Build...? (04viberator)

easiest way to do it is buy a monkeywrench fully built stroker engine. 6k. that comes with everything. the main things that are a concern is the aluminum block, the connecting rods and the piston rings in applications reaching for 300hp+. The oil pump can also be an issue. The one thing to consider ...

Re: Big noob to the vibe (dsmspyderboy)

I think turbo is better. It's usually better on gas and has more power potential. S/C or turbo you need to get your car tuned. A good kit will run you about the same for either about 5k. Things to look for in a complete kit is that it has engine management, fuel injectors, and all hardware needed. M...

Re: (THE VIBERATOR)

your not going to drop 3-4 seconds off your 0-60 times with these simple bolts on. that would put you in the range of some pretty powerful cars since the gt500 mustang(450hp) can do 0-60 in about 5 seconds and the wrx sti can do it in about 6 seconds(300hp) a few bolt ons that may free up 20hp if yo...

Re: EZ Chill Air Conditioner Recharge Kit (ToolGuy)

I did it cause my AC wasn't as cold as I thought it should be. It didn't work though guess the AC just sucks. I overfilled it and the compressor kept shutting off cause of too much pressure so let the pressure back out down to a normal lvl and it works about as well as it did before again. Couldn't ...

emissions law cat must last 7 years regardless of mileage. problem with dealerships is they always find a way to skrew you. They'll probbaly charge you 200 dollars just to tell you it's not the cat. it's hard to test cat function without an exhaust analizer. you can test to see if it is clogged by c...

Re: Ping, Knock, Tick (Sublimewind)

could try dropping in a fuel filter and new top tier gas. no CEL so if a sensor is going it's not out of range yet. I could also clean the maf I read somewhere that above a specific RPM the knock sensor really can't tell that it's knock because of other nosie interference and it's over 3k when it st...

Re: Turbo engine Build...? (04viberator)

If you really want to go the easy route just add octane booster to your car on each fill up and you should be good for a few more PSI. It'll get expensive in the long run(8 dollars extra per fill up and about 250 miles per tank at an average 15k per year that's 480 dollars a year). That's about the ...

Re: (Wolfman213)

Turbo is more power and easier to make custom. Superchargers either need brackets and pulleys or custom made intake manifolds, etc that the average speed shop doesn't have the ability to manufacture. plus centrefugal superchargers that would be used in a custom application are really expensive. But ...

Re: (AKLGT)

Factory turbo is much easier to modify and get big HP. Instead of dropping in headers downpipe intercooler, turbo, pistons and ecu to get an extra 50-100hp(2000+$).. you can pop a high flow exhaust and a boost controller onto your factory turbo car and get an extra 50hp easy(500$). or just a new tur...

WOW that door check is a really common problem that should be a recall. I had to do that on my car too because it was scratching my window and I wanted to install tint which would obviously get very scratched up as soon as I rolled the window down. To me it looked like the plastic that the door chec...

Ping, Knock, Tick

Just wondering if anyone has an insight into my problem. I've got a knocking noise coming from the engine under load above 3k rpms. I think it might be detonation, but there are a lot of other things it could be that might be worse. Also anyone have any tips on the best products to use to clean carb...
