Do they know the forum is back on-line and reasonably active again? I'm sure they do... However, I will make a post on the FB. I will even link to this thread, and tell them to come join and give their input ;) Anything you folks want communicated to them to try and get some of those peeps to spend...
There is a little "indentation" on the driver's side of the license marker housing (outlined in red in the first picture). Put a small flathead screwdriver in there and carefully push down and to the right at the same time. The housing should pop down out of place . The more it's removed,...
My 2003 made it to 239,000 before it took its somewhat permanent retirement. My newly acquired 2010 is almost at 90K though...and I look forward to many miles with it!
I really wanted to like and buy the iM, but I simply don't fit. The roof is lower than either first or second gen Vibe/Matrix, and it doesn't even have a sunroof. I hit my head while shoulder checking. And the interior feels crammed. Also the CVT is goofy with simulated shift points that add no val...
Honestly, I just used a universal CD phone mount for my Vibe as I absolutely didn't want anything sticking to the windshield or to the top of the dashboard. I rarely listen to CDs nowadays (I have all my music on a USB flash drive that I use with my new stereo unit), and it works quite well for me. ...
This is exciting - just reserved the room so one step in right direction! At the moment I'm traveling solo, but it will be exciting to meet some new people out there and such. Plus, I finally have my excuse (and the time) to make it over the Erie! Now to figure out my travel plans so I can make it t...
Awesome write-up! So, wait, if the gauge from the 04 Vibe is swappable with the gauge cluster of the 03s, does that mean one could retrofit an 03 with the white numbers of the 04 Vibes, or is there more that is needed to make that work?
Awesome! Congratulations MrHatchWagon! Today I replaced my flasher module with an LED compatible one, and changed my rear indicator light bulbs to LED lights! I'm quite thrilled with them! Many thanks to Derf for posting this write-up and video: http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=33&am...
I am new here too...welcome to you :) I was looking around for a web site regarding airbag recalls for Vibes and came across this one. Just a reminder, if you have an early year Vibe and did not get an airbag recall yet, don't assume you will be spared. Airbags in my 2003 Vibe spontaneously deploye...
Interesting. Once this happened to me, but something was wrong with the rubber lining (it was folded back). What a surprise to see fuel shooting out of the tank, but at least it shut off once that happened, lol.
This place opened up to us users on April 1, 2002, and today, 11 years later, the place is still active and relevant,. its no joke that it has meant a lot to me and contributed greatly to my enjoyment of my car. Because of this site, I find I assume any stranger I see driving a Vibe is just a frien...
Happy birthday GenVibe!!!!!!! Wow, it's amazing to see the things that I ended up taking for granted to be in such high demand! :) I was pleasantly surprised to find that 2nd plug in the console case when I bought the car; I thought all of the Vibes afterwards would have one of those included in the...
The Trax looks interesting (and now I see why they have the Buick Encore) - it's too bad it's not available in the US. When I was at the 2013 Auto Show, I saw the Encore on display (yet for some reason it wasn't available to enter, unless I missed it). It looks so narrow and tall compared to the Vib...
If the tire is not wearing evenly, you either have worn suspension components like tie rods, struts, bushings, etc, or the alignment is out of whack. Or you are driving very hard, but I doubt that is the case. Best bet is to go to a reputable shop and have them check out the whole front end for you...
There's some information missing- * did the pull start after the bad tire rotation? * type of wheel (steel/alloy)? * was the alignment done by a reputable shop? Ah good questions! *The pull as I could tell started right after the rotation. It was so slight and I really didn't notice it until I was ...
So, I had my tires rotated earlier this year. The shop that rotated them did a terrible job to the point where if I went above 60 mph the steering wheel would vibrate badly and even pull to the right a little bit. I took it back and they "fixed" it, essentially eliminating the vibration, s...
It was very windy in my region. Thankfully my house and neighborhood didn't lose power, but there were a number of traffic lights out and a few trees toppled over. Some areas in Bucks County are still without power.... However, we are in great shape, considering what happened in New Jersey and Manha...
I just get new windshield wipers and new tires if I need them (I gotta get a new set very soon, actually) and make sure the ice scrapers and such are with the car. Hopefully we don't get any surprise snowstorms like last year's Halloween Snowstorm!
Hi there, welcome to Genvibe! Do the dome lights you are referring to look like the following? http://media.ed.edmunds-media.com/pontiac/vibe/2009/evox/2009_pontiac_vibe_4dr-hatchback_base_oc_evox_1_500.jpg I think those are the map lights. If so, are you sure someone didn't accidentally press the b...
I came home from work today and was happy to see that I received the LED tail lights RED PLATINUM 7 WATT HIGH POWER 20 LED BRAKE LIGHT BULBS 7440 7443 and dome lights DE3175 LED Bulb - 4 SMD LED Festoon I ordered online. Since I had a little bit of daylight left, I quickly installed them and they wo...
YEAAAAA!!!! Another member from PA!!!! For fighting rust, I simply do the following: 1. Open the garage door. 2. Pull the Vibe inside. 3. Drive the winter beater 4x4 LOL Where at in PA are you located? with enough members, we may need to get a fall meet going. As a PA Viber, that would be great! I ...
Awesome, welcome to the club! :D I am very interested in that 100000 sticker and may invest in it, lol. I'm well into the 155,000s (highway miles I guess) and my beloved Vibe is doing rather well. There's an annoying rattling that occurs when I hit the bumps in the back that I'm trying to find the c...
This is awesome! Have the postcards already been claimed? Nope. Everything is still up for grabs. PM me your name and address and I will send them out this weekend! Got your PM Brandon. Postcards will be mailed out first thing tomorrow ;)! Hi Carrie, I just received the postcards yesterday. They ar...
This is my type of install - just plug and play! I just ordered one! It'll be nice to have a bassier tone to the horn, and hopefully it'll sound louder as well. I shudder when I remember how a mini-van nearly ran me into the central median of the highway (guess he/she couldn't be bothered to check ...

Now I am in the 154,000s. I've been driving quite a bit since getting my car with 72,227 miles on the odometer over 3 years ago! It still runs quite well; I just had to replace the O2 sensors and the belt tensioner assembly (and belt) earlier this year.
On a recent trip, I got 33.5 mpg. This was basically highway/rural driving, although there were plenty of curves and hills to be had. T'was the best I ever had, even with 2 other passengers!
My latest fill up was $3.53 a gallon at a Wawa in Downingtown. I went on a roadtrip last weekend around Pennsylvania and saw prices at 3.39 at other Wawas and I think as low as 3.31.
I hit 270,000 miles this weekend Suweet! Congrats, man! I'm at 200,700 Currently. Took it to the shop to recharge the a/c. Will have to replace the front wheel bearing soon, and small leak in the radiator. Otherwise, the mechanic says the vibe is still in great condition. Quite nice! So far I'm at ...
I put it on the bottom-outside of my mirror. I never thought of putting it elsewhere until I've seen and read that other people put it elsewhere. I have one of those adjustable bulb things so I can move it to a different angle when necessary.
I tried driving a bit more conservatively for the past week and managed to get 30.2 mpg with my last tank. I drove somewhat slower on some of my highway driving (55 mph at times!) and eased up on my accelerations, trying to get the car to shift at lower RPMs...preferably lower than 3000 or even 2500...
I haven't found too much use for it (I think mine is 115?), since there are only two prongs (my laptop chargers have 3 prongs) and the space for chargers is limited. I managed to use it for my new phone charger, though, and my friend was quite impressed that this outlet existed on the car. "Why...
