I haven't heard of Corollas having this issue. I owned a Corolla before I bought my 03' Vibe, but never experienced the odometer issue with the Corolla.
John: I just got done reading this article that was posted by Canadian Matrix customers who ran into the same issue regarding the odometer topping out at 2999,999. Note the link:http://www.wheels.ca/article/32130That article really got me fired up! I'm not going to stop, until GM replaces my odomete...
John: What type of evidence do you have regarding the Toyota Matrix having the some odometer issue as the Vibe. If Toyota has issued a service bulletin and recall on their Matrix for the same exact issue the Vibe has that would be proof positive that it was an inherent design flaw.
True, but like John stated, GM and Toyota should have issued a service bulletin and recall several years ago, and had this technical problem fixed at their cost. They messed up.
Dealing with Corporate GM is very frustrating, its like dealing with the Federal Government. What is so bothersome is that they don't have a consistent policy of fixing problems that they are responsible for. If you don't know cars, and are listen to their spin they give you the shaft, and soak for ...
I just received a call this morning from my local GM dealer, they said that they would go 50/50 on the cost of parts and labor. What do you think that I should tell them to get them to cover 100% of the parts and labor?
John: The feedback that I have got from GM so far, is that they will not cover the cost of replacing or resetting my Vibe odometer. Is GM paying the full cost of parts and labor for your new odometer?
Thanks a million, John! Your dealer's name will be very helpful. I will e-mail and call my dealer today, with your dealer's name. Oh, one other thing, is there is certain person at your dealer, like the service manager that is the main contact person at your local dealer?
Thanks, John. My dealer has verified my VIN and odometer, its the GM Rep that is dragging his feet. Did GM e-mail you a letter clearly stating that they are going to fix the odometer? If so, could you forward it to me? I could then forward it to my local GM dealer to prove that GM has agreed to fix ...
Dear John: Last week, while driving from Missoula, MT to Spokane, WA, my odometer hit 299,999 and sure enough it stopped counting at that point. I have had to add mileage via my trip odometer now. I took my Vibe to the local GM Dealer where I bought it in June 2003, and the service manager who was t...
I called GM, and talked to a customer service Rep about the odometer issue on my car, namely, that I am very close to hitting 300,000 miles and if they there is an issue with the odometer I need it fixed, and he said that he would have to research the odometer issue, and was not aware of the problem...
Thank you for sharing the very good news!! One question: Do I work with my local dealer first, or contact GM first, and then they call my local dealer to have the odometer replaced?
Thanks for posting your experience regarding the Vibe Odometer limit issue. I'm at 298,750 miles on my 03' Vibe, and I'm on the road about 50% of the year, so I plan on going for 500,000 miles. I'm not happy to hear that I will have go back to the "Stone Age" to keep track of my mileage. I...
I'm at 229,000 miles on my 03' Vibe. Original clutch, CV joints, and rear brake shoes! Replaced the water pump twice, once at about 100K, and then again at about 200K. And replaced one trans axle seal at about 120K.
