A lot depends on the tires. With my winter tires (studded snows), my actual speed is about 2 mph higher than on my summer tires. All this is according to my GPS, though the main difference in speed reading seems to occur at over 60 mph, under that and it seems there isn't a big difference.

The "price" I paid for my '09 was $18,900. However it's pretty well equipped, preferred package with the power options, sun & sound, 2.4L engine & roof rack with a manual transmission. Only things I didn't get were the GT package (couldn't see the point) and auto tranny. The sticker...

I've actually been getting pretty decent mileage out of my 2.4, so far with every tank i've averaged about 31mpgs, though this is with the manual transmission, which despite what Pontiac says, I personally believe that a manual, with a skilled driver will deliver better mpgs than an automatic. On top...

No, there's a difference, my '03 recommends the 5w-30, and I always run that, though for some reason my '09 with the 2.4 asks for the 5w-20. No biggie really, I'll obey what they say.

Seems to be OK now, though I don't think I've done anything different. I didn't drive the (expletive deleted) out of it during the break in, I was real easy with it.

2009/2010 Manual Transmission Question

Hey,I want to throw this one out there and see if maybe any of you have any feedback. I just got my new 09, with the 2.4 and a manual transmission and I've been noticing that when starting out in first gear from a stop, the clutch doesn't want to grab smoothly, it really slips and bucks a few times....

My 2003 base has 134,000 Miles, all driven by me, still on the original clutch, still grabs strong.

I gotta add to this one. Seriously, I really doubt that you really need all wheel drive, I don't have it, and if there's anyone who really needs it, it's probably me. I live in the adirondacks, I'm a die hard skier, and I don't have the luxury of staying home when it snows.I've owned two subie's and...

True, double clutching isn't required on the vibes, but there are certain instances where it can really be beneficial. Personally I only double clutch when down shifting, and generally only from 4th to 3rd, 3rd to 2nd, and yes, I know the manual says never do this, but 2nd to 1st while moving. It's ...

I've got 134,000 on my '03 and a measly 415 on my '09. The '03 still even has it's original clutch and only on its second set of brakes.

Re: (bull77)

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.I haven't decided which situations I'll drive which one, since they are equipped the same, except for the bigger motor in the new one. I do a lot of driving for work, like in the 30,000+ miles per year category, so I'll probably use Old Reliable for work, and sin...

Good luck with that. Finding stick Vibes aren't easy, harder still if you want one with a stick and well optioned. I've had two stick ones, both times looked for a GT, but neither time found one, and that was with about a 300 mile radius search from my home dealership.

Hi Everybody!

I figure I'll introduce myself, I'm now the proud owner of my second vibe, just took delivery of the new one yesterday, but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of "Old Reliable" so I now own two Vibes, and I couldn't be happier.Anyway, here's what I've got:Old Reliable is a 2003 Vibe Front ...
