Re: At a crossroads

I would go used, especially when it comes to an auto. They're not as susceptible to driver abuse (clutch dumps, bad shifts, and the TC acts as a buffer if the driver isn't smooth on the throttle). They are more susceptible to poor maintenance though so it's worth finding one that hasn't hit it's flu...

Derf: Seriously? The drums and rotors are the only cast iron pieces on a Vibe I can think of outside engine internals and flywheel and they're right out there in the thick of the moisture and salt. If they don't get horribly rusted I'd start asking some questions (except in the case of all those sch...

Manual window rattle

K so I'm aware that the cars with power windows had hardware issues with the window regulator that caused rattles and clunks and led to a recall. But I have crank windows (which never saw a recall) and I'm getting a rattle, mainly when the window is all the way down but it's happened as high as 2&qu...

Re: Manual Transmission Oil Change

I did an oil swap on mine recently and decided to try Castrol Syngear in it. It's actually meant for heavy truck (3 ton and up) diffs, but it's still a 75/90 gl-5 synthetic and I get the stuff for less than a dollar a quart since I work at a truck tranny/diff shop. It should be interesting to see wh...

Hub bore is 54.10, not 57.10. All Toyotas with 4x100 and 5x100 use that bore.
The 5x4.5 hub bore is 60.10.

Re: 2009+ TPMS disable

The spare is supposed to be filled to 60 psi to actually be used as a spare. I'd be kinda worried that would damage the TPMS sensors since they're designed for 2/3 of that at most. These sensors can take a LOT of pressure. I used to work at a tire shop that sold Nokians, and the old WR needed to be...

Now SOMEHOW modify the motor to make it fit. Blower comparison- Matrix vs. Vibe

So I went to the JY on a whim today, and much to my surprise I saw a totaled '03 XR. Cool, I thought. Got myself a RH Mirror, E-brake handle (with pretty chrome button), steering wheel and a blower motor, along with some other random bits. My blower has been on the way out for a year or so. So I get...

The vibe base has the same 16" 5x100 steelies that most late model Toyotas run. not sure if the '09 brakes will clear a 15 (earlier vibes can go down to 15s) but if it can then nearly any toyota wheel with that 5x100 pattern will fit. Aluminum toyota OEM wheels will need those shank style nuts....
