Fit no problem - Do NOT get Yokohama's! I detail the reason why on another tire post. Best tire to date I have found: Falken Ziex ZE-912. Tested by Consumer Reports and second only to Michelin in two different categories and half the price.

Now I did it - just picked up a 2004 Matrix with 190k miles on it. Well cared for, regular maintenance, some minor dings and scratches but couldn't pass up the deal - $2950. I'll fixer up and see about reselling and maybe make a quick $1500.

You have it backwards PVibe - the taller tire will result in FEWER miles for a given speed. It may actually result in a MORE ACCURATE speedometer because the factory calibration seems to be about 4% too high. If they are like other goodyears, the scream like a banshee after a year or so. I like Michelins when I can afford them, otherwise the korean tires are just an amazing value: Sumitomo, Kumho and Hankook. All are generating great reviews on the track too.

Ceramic pads are very common on many cars now. I like them cause they are low-dust but still very strong street pad. The dust is less of an issue with steel wheels but with alloys, I would stay with the lowest dust pad you can get - I hate black dust on nice rims, a pet-peeve I guess.

maybe the dimensions FEELING smaller is all inthe lower roof line. I am 6'2", I have about 6" headroom in the 06 whereas the 09 I had about 3". Still just guessing. The dash also seemed closer and tighter wrapped again leads to a feeling of smaller.
