Re: New Rotors and Pads '09 Vibe

Changed the rears (90k+ miles and they were toast) :?: What is the torque spec on the bolts that hold the anchor on? These are the 14mm bolts (not the slider bolts) I had them at around 74 ftlbs which I have seen on other models but then didn't think they were that hard taking them off so I lowered ...

I hear you on the windows in the rear. Hard to see at times when backing out.. but hey.. Ihad a Cooper ebfore that was way shorter with glass everywhere and a Sable sedan so of course I need to get used to the change a little. The steering is a little different. I do not recall what the Cooper had bu...

From what I can tell.. as I suspected, the needle seems to be misaligned or not calibrated correctly. I think the Odometer is reading correct.

Make sure you are using the proper size fuze.If it keeps blowing, there is a short somewhere or something is causing it to draw too much current.Did you change the bulbs or something?

Old thread but a lot of the feeling is the speed sensitive power steering. My Sable had it (VAPS Variable assist power steering).More force is needed the slower the car is moving so the power steering adjusts to compensate. One note is that yes there can be more issues that cause it to go out. A bad ...

Hmm... last fillup was 31.2ish.. before that was 31.4.. I have all the slips in the car. I know most if not all have been above 30mpg.I'm almost done with this tank and I have around 320 miles on it so far.. light has not come on yet (around 3 gallons left when the light comes on)Mostly highway trav...

It starts off in 1st in sport mode. The gear indicated is just the maximum gear it will go to but will shift about as needed. The manual even states this.

I have the 2.4.. tested both and I like the 2.4 w/ 5AT as a better combo than the 1.8 w/ 4AT.Ton better acceleration at highway speeds and smoother overall. I came from having a Sable with the Duratec engine (V6 DOHC 200hp) and a Mini Cooper S.I like to have the extra power since I do a lot of drivi...

Just as a note, I had a 96 Sable. The forums I was on there was a procedure for flushing the trans at home. After you drop the pan, change the filter and reinstall the pan, you would add fluid to the trans, unhook one of the trans cooling lines and put into a bucket and start the car. Stop the engine...

When you shift over to sport mode.. it will always set you up in 4th gear while driving. Think of it as turning off OverDrive in a car with a standard automatic. When you are at a stop and go to sport, it will still go to 4th, but that only indicates the max gear you are allowing the trans to go int...

I noticed this also on my new vibe. Actually first noticed it on the Aveo that I had for a loaner while the insurrance figured out what was going on with my other car. I never thought my Cooper or the Sable had as much free flow air as this car while in motion. I think it all has to do where the air...

Re: '09 GT speedometer error

When I first got my car I thought it felt a little slow ('09 2.4 w/ 17"). Just borrowed my friends GPS and it is showing 2 mph faster on the speedo than actual speed. Initial testing shows that it doesn't matter if you are going 25 or 65.. still 2 mph (as accurate ad I can tell with whole numbe...
