Anybody out there used Federal Himalaya tires?

I don't follow tire manufactures much and I've never heard of Federal but I need a set of 4 winter tires and I was thinking of these. Mounted and balanced Federal Himalaya's for 73 a piece.I know they aren't top shelf but top shelf just isn't in my budget. Anybody used these things yet? Here's a link...

Winter rubber advice for a anti-lock free Vibe.

So I bought my 05 2WD in the spring of 09. Well the winter approached and I quickly learned my Vibe did not have anti-lock brakes (which I was used to using for 15 years and miss greatly). I did ask the dealership if the car had them at the time I bought it, he said "of course", he was ver...

Re: error code and understanding my warranty (joatmon)

Great great great info!I'm taking it into the shop Tuesday morn (not driving it until then just in case). Hopefully this won't be a tranny solenoid issue. Not sure how much that would run but any time I hear the word "transmission" I think dollar signs.

error code and understanding my warranty

My 2005 Vibe (2WD, under 80,000 miles, AUTO) threw this P2716 error code today and judging my this thread ( http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=35022) it's a PCM issue which is covered by an 8yr, 80,0000 mile warranty. Is this some extended warranty or from the factory. I'm also not the original...

Re: (piznarish)

I didn't quite believe this fix was do-able without removing the dash but after a couple hours of fiddling it's true. Also I didn't even touch the radio, just feel around the actuator and you'll find the two hex heads you need to remove. It's insanely cramped quarters but it's possible with strong f...

Re: Odd noise when driving with back windows down? (mysaygrace)

You can also make it happen with all the windows up but the moonroof completely open. Put the car around 25-35 then reach up and pull that plastic spring loaded bar down that pops up when the glass slides back. As far as I can tell the only purpose of that piece of plastic is to stop the chuffing ph...

De-badge and Re-badge it. Keep the people guessing. http://i945.photobucket.com/al...o.jpgI used fishing line on a hot day. No need for the hair dryer.

I love it. What kind of MPG drop are you seeing with this? Can you tell it's back when your driving?

Re: (Sublimewind)

Yeah, I doubt it will chip and flake of this easy in the future on the metal body panels. Thing is I've got an old (13+ years) beater GM ride that still has perfect paint on the plastic bumper and that's after I've hit a few parking meters etc.The carfax showed a clean record but I understand a mino...

Re: New Vibe owner, already concerned with the car. (ColonelPanic)

Thanks ColonelPanic,I did see that thread in a search for an answer but the in store Duplicolor book didn't have a match.Out of curiosity I just now went to their website and I think I found it on there. For some reason they don't stock it in stores? Strange.I have a strong suspicion it will cost a ...

New Vibe owner, already concerned with the car.

Hello fellow Vibe owners! So I bought an 05 two weeks ago and for the most part I love this car . .. . .. until last night. From reading this forum I guess there are paint issues but I thought, nah mine will be okay. Well it's not. I took it down to the car wash last night and the high pressure rinse ...
