Thanks for the update! After some time of driving, would you please report back if these springs are any more comfortable than the original springs? I have had the quick struts on all four corners of my vibe for 35,000 miles now and from day one I felt the monroe springs were softer (lower springs ...
I had this same problem when I did all my suspension at 230,000 miles. Nut came off no problem but the bushing/sleeve was fused to the mounting stud. I cut the strut off from the rubber bushing and then had to burn/heat the bushing and sleeve until it broke free from the mounting stud. Passenger sid...
I don't understand what you mean by lock it in place? My rails tighten and basically lock in place and the rack is clamped to the rails so it doesn't move.
That 60' is horrid for an AWD vehicle but these motors don't produce squat for torque and I am guessing you are automatic. So that time is actually respectable for what the vehicle is.
I just did this yesterday in about 15-20 minutes with only glove box removed.1/4 inch ratchet and 5.5mm socket is the only tools required. remove wire harnessratchet with socket to get screws started rotating out.fingers and socket to turn screws the rest of the way out.pull actuator. Replace with n...
Well I don't have the trailblazer anymore but I can probably do almost as much with the vibe as I could with the trailblazer. Only problem is the payload capacity. I think I pushed the limits of the vibes weight limitation with that load. But for what it is it does pretty good. Just lack of torque a...
No I do not Race MX. The number plate stickers are In Memory of my wife's cousin who raced MX and Snowcross. He passed away a few years back. As for what am I going to carry in the roof basket. A large cargo bag full of Camping gear/Luggage.
Made some additions to the vehicle. Rola Roof Mounted Cargo BasketNew roof rail crossbars (aftermarket on Amazon) - Took off factory crossbars to get something more useful.Slotted Rotors in frontTinted Windows a while ago.De-badged awhile ago
I had a noise (more coil bind sound) but sometimes pop in my front suspension. Ended up being the passenger side strut mount failing. Completely detached metal from rubber. Replaced only the strut mount. No more noises.
I believe I got around 75k on my front pads. Unfortunately in the long morning commute I deal with heavy traffic so aggresive braking is hard to avoid. I just did my second set at 127,000 miles. I had Hawk HPS on it before. Stopping power was great but they wore faster, ate the rotors up more and ha...
I have no experience with the STAGG products but I have always had great luck with the Tokico HP struts. I hate KYB (OEM). I would put Monroe on before I replaced with KYB again. But like stated before. Really depends on what you are looking to do with it. But can't go wrong with the Tokico in my op...
Sounds like a stabalizer link or ball joint from the description. My guess worn stabalizer link attaching to sway bar. Check it by grabbing firmly and shaking it around as hard as you can. It may make a clicking noise if the ball stud is worn in the link.
Reviving an old thread. Shame on me.I just had similar clunk in front end of car from passenger front strut but not cold out at all. 70 degrees. Turned out my front passenger strut mount deteriorated and the metal that holds the top hat for the spring became detached from the rubber in the strut mou...
They let vibes on the tail of the dragon? I know that exact spot. I took a break there while driving the dragon last year. I was on the other side of the road though.
Is the PPE header for the 1ZZ motor worth the extra money? I keep contemplating a header for the vehicle and wonder if the DC or the PPE is the best option. Car is basically a commuter/utility vehicle. Would like a little more go under my foot with the traffic and potential situations of long expres...
Well I don't have the supporting pictures but some progress has been made to the visual appeal of the car. tinted windows 5% and removed all the badges on the sides and rear of the car. It has also received new tires and some Hawk HPS front brake pads with new rotors. What should I do next to help w...
Most of the time in movies or tv shows if you pay attention they remove alot of the headrests if they can to clear viewing area for different camera angles. It looks like it has painted rear view door mirros so it has to be 05-08 model. My eyes and computer screen could be screwing with me though.
Commercial Issues is a reference for ( Not supplying parts for lack of payment from GM ) or a (supplier who has closed its doors completely from economy and GM is working to resource a vendor to supply the Service Parts Components.)If the origional vendor closed up shop then you have an issue for qu...
OK, It would look pretty good I think. But if they did something as stupid as rivet them to the car then there isn't much of a point unless I have plans to have it painted. Why use rivets when 3M 2sided tape is adequate? Must have done it for locating them to be equidistant from all areas and from on...
I have debadged the car except the pontiac logo on the fron of the car. I was wondering what it would look like to remove the door ding strips on the doors. I did this on my Ford Probe GT and loved the look. I believe they don't have them or they are an option on the 09+ models. But being as I have ...
Only other pontiac in recent years, that I can recall, that runs the 5x100 bolt pattern is the Pontiac Sunfire. The Chevrolet Beretta and Corsica were both 5x100 and the Cavalier was as well.Just do some research and you should be able to find a list by bolt circle and what cars had the same. Then y...
KYB struts are garbage unless they are AGX or a better model. That is unless your car has stock springs etc... They are fine for stock replacement but that is about it from my experience.
rear pads? Do you have disk brakes? Not sure on thickness but 6/32's will probably last a while on the back. It only does 15%-20% of the braking.Rear shoe adjustment with drums is just a little dial to move the resting position of the shoe in or out with respect to the drum mating surface. In theory...
With respect to cops it is all going to be related to who the cop is, what area you are in, and if they are really pushing to bust people or not.If you get teh front driver and passenger windows tinted don't drive through Grand Blanc, MI. They love giving tint tickets. Not sure of a good shop by you.
Check tie rod ends, wheel bearings, ball joints. Most likely they have road force variation testing but they don't know how to use their wheel balancing machine.Go away from stick on adhesive weights on the wheels down the center to the clip on wheel weights on the outer and inner edge of the rim. T...
2003 - 70,500 miles Currentlybought last year in May '08 with 28,000 miles on it.Just replaced the origional front brakes yesterday. Still on origional tires. They will be replaced before the snow flies.
Yeah I doubt I will make it out there as I will be busy tearing apart an old bonneville but i have been to the car shows before. In the park/grass area next to A&W, A&W parking lot, DJ's, Live Band, etc....
This was local to me. It was a group of people (dealership owners) putting a bid in on Pontiac. Although a great idea in theory I don't think they had a full understanding or enough money or credit to run a full swing vehicle manufacturing operation. I think if they did anything they would have just...
Latest Photos added below in Thread:So here is the Vibe that was purchased to be a commuter for my wife in place of our trailblazer during the $4.00 per gallon period of time. Well that has come and gone and the Trailblazer has been traded in for a different car for the wife. So I inherited the Vibe...
Say high to Robie "the Hammer" Robinson for me while you are at work.He has basically taken care of my family for new car sales since he started working there. I know it has been over 10 years now. I drive through the used lot more frequently than I should on the corner of Hill and Saginaw...
