Hey! (For reference) My summer wheels are for sale (asking $500): http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAd?AdId=434200409&Guid=13b2f2f8-7890-a20b-26b0-e414fffbfcb9" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm really dispointed they don't share a bolt pattern with my new car. I really too...
The Vibe is SOLD, delivered to its happy new owner last night. Appropriate Genviber PMs and emails have been replied to. I'll send the new owner an email with a link to Genvibe. He seemed like a really nice guy. I let the car go for way less than I could have got if I were willing to wait it out a m...
Anyways.... What an amazing price, i wish it was closer here to Florida Thanks! -- I think the 5spd limits the market big time, and the scraped bumper is a turnoff. Unfortunately, there aren't any local parts I've been able to find, and shipping new bumper covers from the US is a deal breaker price...
Hey ladies and gents, It's with mixed feelings I mention here that my car is for sale...I'm posting in this forum for reference. Here is a link to the ad: http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-trucks-2003-Pontiac-Vibe-Cert-CarProof-E-tested-New-Winter-Tires-W0QQAdIdZ428046072" onclick=&q...

It's been pretty stable here in Ottawa. I haven't paid less than $1.18/L or more than $1.24 in about 6 months. Been hovering around $1.22 for the past month.
Those are some nice looking tires.. Nice enough to make me crave some winter driving ;) Thanks! Yeah, winter driving (aside from any traffic jams) is one of those things that makes a long, dark, cold winter bearable, eh?! I found out recently that my A/C compressor is toast :-l I'm going to deal wi...
So, I was out last night at Fratelli, and then Trio (in Westboro). There was a Fisker Karma there! :o It had Florida plates, and there was a young guy in his late 20s in it. First time I've seen one in person. :D Also there was a modified Gallardo (loud!) hogging all the attention, but I was more cr...
Another update: A couple of months ago, I picked up some barely used Blizzak Revo1 rubber mounted on rims off an '04 WRX for winters. They have only 2 months and less than 2000 km on them, and look new (The guy got a job down south). I paid only $200. It was my lucky day - the guy had just p...
Hey Genvibers. So I hear the new forum setup doesn't allow apostrophies, so my user name has been changed to 03VibeOttawa. Another happy update: My car was manufactured in July 2002, which makes it TEN YEARS OLD this month. :D Considering how much I've gotten out of it, and how much life it has left...
I'm a manual guy, myself, and like some others here, my significant other can't drive stick.I always thought I'd be a manual-for-lifer, due to the control you get, more engaging experience, and the extra fuel economy. It's getting somewhat harder to stick to that vision, with the double-clutch trans...
Niice! Gotta get your $$ worth out of your snow tires! We've had snow on the ground here since Christmas eve, and still getting dumped on (8" snowstorm coming this afternoon/tonight).
Just rolled over 205,000kms today. Down to the last few days of my 3rd set of snow tires. This spring/summer I'll be in the (local) market for a set of used rims with snow tires on for next winter.Cheers!

I wish there were an Ottawa member with a 2nd gen who would be willing to take me for a ride, just out of interest's sake. I've never actually rode in one.Unless a test drive wowed me, based on everything I've read about the 2nd gen, I would take a similar mileage/condition 1st gen over an '09-'10, ...

I didn't put any thought into mine. Didn't even look at the directory to see someone previously had the same name with different punctuation. I don't like my username (kind of uninspired, impersonal), but I don't care enough to change it!
I've thought about this too...good thread idea.I hope to be the last 03-04 on the road (that I see). Me having the last 03-08 in the Ottawa area doesn't seem like a stretch considering how I'm taking great care of mine, its always garage kept, and only putting 18,000-22,000 Kms on every year. Even i...

Wow, lots of tall Vibers chimed in! I'm 6'3.5", and the closest thing I have to an "issue" is seeing a stop light when I'm tight to an intersection. No shortage of dimensions anywhere else for me. I may need a 911 Targa to cure my "problem" someday lol.
Heh - an old Ottawa thread back to life.I just wanted to lightheartedly vent about this winter we're having. I'm all for snow on the ground, and outdoor winter activities, but I think I've had enough! It's been snowy and below freezing all the time I've been around town since Christmas Eve, and I fo...

Prices in Ottawa abruptly shot up on Saturday, and have stayed there through today. Going prices are $1.255 - $1.27 /L around town today, 5 cents above all of last week. It's gotta be hitting hard these days for anybody making less than $20/hr who has to fill up every week or more.
I think it's good there are so many practical, "unexciting" cars in this thread.I think every new driver should have at least one economical, practical car for a few years before getting a sports car or high-end car in general, for many reasons. It seems so obvious, I'd be bored to type th...
In light of some other threads opposite in nature to this one, I just wanted start a thread and see if anyone wanted to chime in and brag about their clean driving records?! So far through my 1st 11 years of driving (I'm 28 now), I've still yet to have a ticket/infraction, or any insurance claim. Th...
As I said in the PMs, I'm totally interested! I'm booked solid every day until February 4th however. It's probably hard to get more than 2-3 Vibers to turn out in Ottawa, but that wouldn't cramp my enthusiasm in the least!
My car's never gone more than 3 months without an oil change -I'm following the manual and mechanic's recommendations. People tell me that's excessive, but I've never seen a check engine light, or had a powertrain issue, and am aspiring to get another 10 years out of my car. (fingers crossed)

This one hurts to read, again. Not to hijack the topic, but I'm glad the accused will be behind bars for a long time. In Canada, he'd be out of prison in 8 years (tops), with a taxpayer funded university education.
Just replaced the OEM battery today (Got a Motorcraft one put in). This week, my original one just started to slightly hesitate whenever the car sat in the cold for more than 6 hours. Getting the 3rd tranny oil change done today too.
Thanks for the input here, mac99d and circuitsmith.I have a similar sound issue when coasting in gear, and am having my tranny oil changed today (Haven't changed since 70,000kms ago). It just started about 2 weeks ago - metallic rattling sound when I let off the gas and decelerate in gear. Fingers c...
