yes, running richer will make cat run cooler. most factory supercharer/turbocharger tends to run rich for this reason. running leaner, will definetely shorten cat's life. don't know by how much. but remember manufacturer has to warranty it for 8 yrs, so they are definetely on the safe side.I have a ...

yes going faster yields lower mileage. but in the case of Vibe. it is a lot more dramatic. this is the only forum I see posting of 15mpg to 40mpg. usually variation is much less than that. what the engineer was saying is that ecu is dumping fuel in order to lower cat temperature. this happens in all...

Vibe locks itself automatically

my Vibe now locks automatically, without anyone in the car, no key in the car. It usually locks itself within 5 minutes. every morning coming to the garage, the car is locked.any ideas? thanks.

you have the same car I have, base auto. in my opinion, unichip don't work on the base auto, and they cost way too much. if you are going to spend on a unichip and a CAI, why not just go to TRD supercharger. Toyota version is about $1,700 (at matrixowners.com GB forum), plus about $400 installation....

don't feel bad about 25mpg !! do a search on this subject, you will see lots of people gets worse mileage. I was about 25mpg before supercharger, 21mpg after supercharger. before someone flames me. I always average around City EPA rating on all my other cars.

it really has nothing to do with your CAI, some of the cars just get lousy mileage, some gets great mileage.I get between 23-27mpg before supercharger, 20-23mpg after supercharger. some tanks (right after I got the supercharger) have been 15-17mpg !! on a long round trip from Los Angeles to Las Vega...

just called them, and they want $640 to install supercharger !! the standard rate should be 6 hours. on Matrix forum, average price is about $480.

I haven't used the roof rack yet, because I installed hidden hitch (for about $100), and used it to carry my bikes and skis. LOT easier to get to than roof rack.

Don't forget Vibe usually comes with more rebates when new, I think it is more than fair if you Vibe has only $1k delta (compare to Matrix) on resale value.Most genviber paid more than $1,000 less than comparable Matrix.
