help !! what is this electrical connector for ?
having AM2 fuse issue (blows every few months), so checking all the loose wires, found this plug hanging. just below throttle body.
yes, running richer will make cat run cooler. most factory supercharer/turbocharger tends to run rich for this reason. running leaner, will definetely shorten cat's life. don't know by how much. but remember manufacturer has to warranty it for 8 yrs, so they are definetely on the safe side.I have a ...
yes going faster yields lower mileage. but in the case of Vibe. it is a lot more dramatic. this is the only forum I see posting of 15mpg to 40mpg. usually variation is much less than that. what the engineer was saying is that ecu is dumping fuel in order to lower cat temperature. this happens in all...
I also want to add: this engineer did say auto's magic mph number is lower than 5 speed.I do have a supercharger (one of the very early adapter). but at cruising speed, almost never in boost. GM supercharger is controlled by a piggyback ECU, so factory ECU probably doesn't know the piggyback is addi...
It always drove me nuts when I get low mileage (20-24) since day one. I know there have been a lots of explanations: like cold weather (defrost, fuel) and hot weather (A/C on), etc. but it doesn't explain why I always get city EPA mileage with all my other cars (I have 7 cars), but on Vibe, it is mu...
thanks guys !! I diddn't know this was a standard feature. I've had the car for 2 yrs now. may be I wasn't noticing this before. I could of swear that it wasn't doing it before, may be it is now finally working !!!

my Vibe now locks automatically, without anyone in the car, no key in the car. It usually locks itself within 5 minutes. every morning coming to the garage, the car is locked.any ideas? thanks.
you have the same car I have, base auto. in my opinion, unichip don't work on the base auto, and they cost way too much. if you are going to spend on a unichip and a CAI, why not just go to TRD supercharger. Toyota version is about $1,700 (at matrixowners.com GB forum), plus about $400 installation....
from what everybody posted here, 20mpg-35mpg seems to be the range, I am guessing averaging about 24-28mpg for most. That is BAD compare to EPA ratings. You go to different car forums, people are usually getting close to city EPA MPG. NOT 25% below city's EPA number. I really believe there is an iss...
don't feel bad about 25mpg !! do a search on this subject, you will see lots of people gets worse mileage. I was about 25mpg before supercharger, 21mpg after supercharger. before someone flames me. I always average around City EPA rating on all my other cars.
'03 Base automatic supercharged with 26k miles"before supercharger: 22-27mpgafter supercharger: 18-22mpgas for me, mileage gotten worse and worse, for the last 2 months, I have not ever gotten over 20mpg. I am used to this now, and gave up trying to find the reasons for it. I am sure it isn't m...

it really has nothing to do with your CAI, some of the cars just get lousy mileage, some gets great mileage.I get between 23-27mpg before supercharger, 20-23mpg after supercharger. some tanks (right after I got the supercharger) have been 15-17mpg !! on a long round trip from Los Angeles to Las Vega...
I am not so lucky on mine .I have S/C and A/F controller.before s/c - 23-27mpgafter s/c - 16-24mpgone time I actually got 13mpg, but that was during dyno and many 1/4 mile run
I also called over 10 dealers, price rangin from $2,800 - $3,000. I bought mine off Ebay. install cost me $400, it is 6-8 hours by the book.you can get it here for $2,749. hope this helps.http://www.gmpartsdepot.com/st...=1855

auto transmission vibration rattle between 5000-6000rpm, if I pull the auto stick towards me, the rattle goes away. took apart the center dash around auto transmission. can't find the source. this is driving my crazy, anyone had similar problems?

I got my boost gua...
okay, I just got my car back from SS for the a/f controller install and dyno tune. I don't have a scanner, so can't upload my dyno graph. good news/bad news good news: 1. I gained between 8-15hp / 10wtq across the rpm range. 2. a/f ratio was just under 10 before and 12 after. SS did tune it a little...

Quote, originally posted by tbm34 »Hang in there bellwilliam, and remember, the GM supercharger set-up is only advertising a 30% gain, so it won’t turn your Vibe into an instant rocketship, and your auto transmission isn’t helping either. Also, the supercharger won’t give you the kic...

It seems there is now a cheaper supercharger option: Get a supercharger w/o piggyback ECU for $1,600 + unichip.see http://www.matrixowners.com/mo...22512I just bought myself a supercharger (from GM with ecu) but haven't installed yet. wondering if I should go with A/F computer or unichip.
if you look at front tower, it is really close to the firewall. so I doubt front strut will make any differences in Vibe. in other car, where front suspension mount is a lot further away from firewall, it would probably flex a lot more.a really old autocross trick, is to tie front towers with aircra...

I bit the bullet and bought a supercharger. even if Matrix and Vibe's ECU were different, it doesn't mean supercharger's add-on ECU piggyback is different for Matrix and Vibe. I haven't used the roof rack yet, because I installed hidden hitch (for about $100), and used it to carry my bikes and skis. LOT easier to get to than roof rack.

I don't understand why people don't just use carsdirect.com. current price for Vibe is $400 over invoice + $2000 rebate + $500 bonus cash (at least for socal, zip code 91773).There is no negotiation. you just have a cashier's check ready, bring it to the dealer, they will have all your paperwork typ...
Don't forget Vibe usually comes with more rebates when new, I think it is more than fair if you Vibe has only $1k delta (compare to Matrix) on resale value. Most genviber paid more than $1,000 less than comparable Matrix. Vibe has these extra financial incentive, although not everyone will get them.1...
