The resale value on the vibe is not as bad as they say. When I sold my 2004 Vibe in 2008 to buy the 2009, I got 42% of what I paid for it back, after 5 years and 58.8k mi.

I have not, but I did put Michelin Energy tires on my 2004 Vibe. They did increase mileage by about 1 mpg and they were quieter. I also thought they actually handled better than the OEM Tires.

How are your 09 tires holding up?

I replaced my third tire on my 09. The first two were replaced due to hitting a piece of cement on the freeway, so that doesn't necessarily count, but the third one developed an impact bulge from hitting what I suspect was a pothole at about 40 mph.

I've been using the tap-shifter while towing a trailer. I also use it occasionally on "country roads" to that are winding with lots of slopes. Downshifting can reduce the amount of braking.

Picked up the new "Little Guy" teardrop camper. This is their widest model and model as equipped weighs about 1100 lbs. The 2.4L (5 spd. auto) barely broke a sweat pulling it. I even maintained speed up an 8% grade. I could probably have pulled two of these. On flat ground it ran in 5th ok...

I calibrated mine with a GPS and it's reading about 2-3 mph over the actual speed. The reasoning behind this isn't as arcane is it might seem.
