I've noticed another small detail, our 04 has a threaded screw-in gas cap. My 05 has a twist & click cap, but then when my wife bought her 05, I noticed it has the threaded cap like the 04......early 05 maybe? My 04 (RIP) and 08 have screw-in caps, while the 05 is twist and click. Not sure why ...

Resolved my issue with the clock/radio digits fading away, plus can't see them with polarized sun glasses either. Found this on Amazon for 8 bucks. The display is inset just a bit so I added a strip of double sided tape to the adhesive as a spacer.

Thought all the Vibes had dome light supervision? That looks like the sunroof switch/map lamp assembly. I've had the panel off of my 04 dozens of times and there's no "slide" that I recall. Just connect the electrical plug and hook the top over the door and snap it back in place. I'm not sure if there's a way to slide it so that all the panel clips slide out of their mounts? I just pop them ...

I would say yes, but I guess it depends some on location and climate. Here 5 years is optimal, 7 is starting to really push your luck. At 8 years I would say it's likely to fail any day that that you really, really need it.

Nice, glad that worked out for you so well. About any plastic push pin that's large enough to fit the hole would work fine. The bolt is most likely 6mm with a 10mm hex head. I actually think over 90% of the bolts on the vibe are that size. I'm sure that's an exaggeration and not to be taken literall...

I think you're fine, although I would do a couple of drain and fills rather than a flush. I just buy 7 quarts of T-IV fluid and a couple crush washers at a Toyota dealer, I seem to get 3.5 qts out on each drain.

I used to run the CS3, which became the Evolution Tour, which became the Endeavor. According to the tire shop Cooper made changes to the tire compounds along the way, which is why the name changed. That is where I found it, but I thought it was high side only. Must be just one on this car. If I understand it I should be able to jumper 1 and 2 and if the compressor kicks in then I have a bad switch. If not then I have a $$$ repair, or a cool weather only car.

Like Jolt said, I would use a screwdriver to pop that off, but then I would replace it with a Fumoto drain valve https://www.fumotousa.com/cars-pickups- ... -4l-4-cyl-. Never worry about the washer again. Have one on every vehicle I own.

My 04 can sometimes take a few seconds of cranking before it starts, but that's mainly when it's already warm. Like when running errands and it's only sat for a few minutes, and also when it's well below 0º in the morning. Normal cold starts in the morning and after work are no more than 1-2 seconds...

It's showing a surface charge of 12.5 maybe, but the battery itself is no way near that. An hour charge after it's been drained overnight isn't going to do squat. I go in through the passenger door, turn face up and lay across the driver's seat with my head under the dash. Helps to have a forehead mounted light, too.
