Re: Another aftermarket door speaker post

An amp capable of 2 ohms (like the one in the Vibe) can easily handle a smaller (4 ohm) load & not have any issues. You won't have as much power, but it won't hurt the amp or speakers.

The other way around, IE 4 ohm capable amp running a 2 ohm load, will shorten the life expectancy of the amp.

As was said before, it probably wasn't Best Buy that caused the issues with the car. You blame them because they were the last ones to work on the car, but it could've happened if no one touched the car. If you are convinced that it was the install that caused the issue, take it to another (reputabl...

Re: New stereo install. Do I need $130 module?

You only need the harness if you want to retain OnStar. Being that the car isn't a true GM product the door chimes etc, don't go through the radio. If the car is non Moon & Tunes (no factory subwoofer) you can get away with using Scosche's GM18b adapter. You'll need to move 1 wire in the harness...

I'd say the manual version is way more sensitive with traction control. It doesn't take much at all for the TC light to come on on my '09. As for the beep, I only ever heard it when the VSC kicked in & that was usually only in the winter.

Ok, so after checking with the installer at work & checking Metra's site again, it IS the GMOS-Lan-012 that you need for the 09/10 Vibe. He hasn't actually done an install on one of our cars (09/10 years) so he's not sure about having to move a wire. As for the XM antenna, it will work with an a...

the Reason why it says "for OnStar retention only" is because the Vibe does not have the GM data bus system like most of the other cars... there is no need for the module to retain chimes or for airbags or driver information centre info
