Re: Block heater cord (j42.snyder)

It's a 2009 vibe. I guess the question is whether the connector between the cord and the plug is the same between what Toyota (er I mean GM) uses and the aftere market.

Block heater cord

I live in the north where my block heater gets used 20 or 30 times a winter, and today, just a month past the end of my warranty, the cord stopped working (the brittle plastic tends to break in the cold weather, you'd think they'd engineer that better)My dealer put a new bright yellow plug on the en...

Re: Scratches on the windshield (SMacBosch)

I have exactly the same problem. Any plastic scraper I use seems to leave little scratches on the windshield. I get 6 months of winter so there are lots of them.I've often grumbled to myself about them, not sure they'd consider this a defect that would be covered under warranty, I've never tried.

Recall Floor mat differences

I'm looking at the recall for my floor mats. Can anyone with the all weather floor mats tell me what the difference is between the original and the new ones they're swapping in for the recall?Right now my mats are secure, there is no way they'll stick down the accelerator, so before I agree to them s...

Battery problems

I'm wondering if anyone else with an 09/10 has had the anaemic battery problem. My battery went dead the other morning, it wasn't even that cold (-5 °C). It has been through -20 weather and I tend to drive short trips about 10 minutes or so. I took it in to GM and they said yes it was low, they cha...

Re: Block Heater (CanadaUK)

It's not standard equipment, it came as a $65 option when I ordered my 09 Vibe. Not a bad price, especially since Toyota charges about double the price. My cord is on the right, near the battery, ready to be pulled out when the temperature gets a bit colder!

For about that price you can get the Vibe mats from GM. The dealer threw in the mats in my car but I think they said they were $120 cdn. I love them, they are keeping all the sand and crap off my carpet, and they did a great job in the winter. The only annoying thing was trying to dup out the water w...

I have heard a little bit of a faint squeel sometimes after I start the car and back out of the driveway. When I drive the first 100 meters or so I hear the sound even without the breaks on but then it seems to go away after I drive for more then 2 or 3 minutes. It doesn't seem to be every time. I h...

Re: Vibe 2009 1.8 Question (lhrn)

The dimming is normal. If you're driving at night (which is when you'd turn your lights on) you want the lights inside the car to be dimmer so they don't interfere with your night vision. You can control the brightness by turning (instead of pressing) the button used to reset the odometer.

This click is louder than what you described. You can hear it with the radio on, in any gear, any time you press in the peddle. Next time it goes in for something I'll make them take a look at it again, I feel silly brining it in for just that. Maybe by then they'll have a standard on the lot that I...

If you read the fine print all that's covered by maintenance is oil changes and inspections. That's it. I suspect if you want synthetic they'll probably charge you extra for that too, so if you do your own oil then it's probably worth taking the $750.It does mean you can actually change your oil eve...

I'm going in to do the negotiating for my new Vibe tomorrow. The dealership ordered it, it has arrived, but I haven't signed anything or even discussed price. It's a base 1.8L 5 speed with the 1SB. The $2500 (It's $3,000 if you get a 2.4l engine) is if you do long term outside financing through your bank etc. So the terms are up to the bank, not GM. All they want is confirmation that you're financing this (you can't just take the discount and pay cash, I checked). This is there way of encouragi...

It sounds like it will be about 2 months. As soon as I have it I PROMISE pictures. Out in e...
