I get this too in my '09. We're getting a ton of snow right now and neither my home or work parking are sheltered. Short of getting somewhere to thaw the car out, I'm not sure of a simple solution. I do look forward to ditching the factory steel rims and rubber in another year or so.

I didn't order the whole cargo package, but I did order the folding cargo cover. The sneaky buggers had it tucked under the spare tire, along with some tire tie-downs. I'm not sure if it's NUMMI or the dealership that packs up these options, but they sure didn't want me to find it.

I had this problem too on my '09 but after I installed the mud flaps it got better. The front flaps also kept a lot of muck off the side of the car. They weren't fun to install and you have to drill into the body of the car, but so far it's worth it.

The '09's are becoming pretty prevalent out here now. I saw one the other day with a pretty sharp custom paint job (lower half was a shade of orange and the top half was bright white). Might have just been one of those custom jobs that Pontiac recently offered, but it looked pretty good.

Crazy Russians. I just bent the clip back a little with my thumb and it stayed out of the way while I torqued the cap off. As far as I can see, the clip serves no purpose (assuming you've properly tightened the cap).

I would get it checked. In my experiences, a fully warmed engine should idle at about 500 rpm's. The idling you describe sounds like what should happen when you start it in the cold. This could become a safety issue and it's definitely costing you to burn more fuel than necessary.BTW, I have a 09 1....
