Re: 09 - Manual Transmission grinding

Tim, that's like how I drive my Mustangs and how I drove my old 03 GT. Almost never use 3rd and 5th on the 6 speed unless im "testing out the acceleration" and I skipped 2nd and 4th on the 5 speed. I almost never downshift unless I'm driving down a hill. And those don't exist in Houston! A...

Thanks Bookworm. I grew up in Timbergrove next to the Heights and know that area well. I work off 290 and Mangum, so I could certainly drop by one evening.

Thanks Tim for the info. I've converted my 87 Mustang to r134a, and all of the rest of our cars are too, so that is the kind I need.

I've seen roof racks on an 03-08 Matrix before, but they were just "U" shaped brackets that mounted to the roof, kind of like the 09-10 OEM Vibe racks on the AWD models. They went side to side, with nothing running front to back.

There are a few. I was dealing with the local Discount Hitch location, and some of the hitches on their website say specifically for the GT or Matrix XRS trims. Great to hear you are enjoying your new Equinox. We've had ours for 4-1/2 yrs and 45K trouble fee miles and it is still a nice vehicle for my wife. It is quite possible you would need a new wiring harness to match the engine since the two motors are different, but it might just mean re-pinning or moving wires around on the existing wiring harness. Not sure, but I would make sure what all you need to do before you start.

Good luck on it!

Have you checked to make sure it is not the AC recirculate gear? The teeth on the gear break often and when that happens, the gear causes a clicking noise in the center of the dash. It often goes away if you press the recirc button. http://forums.genvibe.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=3435&...
